Not the right part number, but it works

The original charger of my HP Sleekbook snapped off when the laptop took a tumble off the bed (just thankful the jack itself wasn't damaged there!). Unfortunately this line requires a port that's a little longer than most of the stock ones, so I had to scrounge around for a replacement that didn't cost $60-90.

Now, here's the hinky part. The back of my original charger says that it's part number 677770-001 and can be replaced with part number 693715-001, which is what this lists as... but the back of the actual brick says it's part number 677770-002, to be replaced with 613249-001. Plus it looks like the HP label was stuck on only after something else had been peeled off--there's a little corner in the top right where a white label underneath shows.

But for the ~$30 this is going for, you probably shouldn't expect genuine parts. The input and output voltage listed match, the plug fits the laptop, and since setting it up, I've gone from a 72% charge to 100% without frying anything. Good enough for me. Plus the shipping from Star Power was a lot faster than estimated--I ordered on a Wednesday and got it on a Saturday, and the estimate had it not arriving until Tuesday or the following Wednesday. I'm pretty happy... right now. I'll update when/if this thing craps out.

Not quite a 100% replacement

Purchased this to use as a second charger at work.

My HP sleekbook says that the original part number is: 677770-001

This replacement adapter is slightly a different size in two ways:

1) The output end that goes in to the laptop, fits, but it kind of has to be forced in. Haven't had an issues, it's just the plastic is slightly wider then what came with the computer.

2) The input end that goes in to the power brick does not stay very well. This is a non issue for me, as it sits below my desk, but if you are in a situation where the power brick is dangling, don't expect the connection to stay put.

Overall, for the price I paid I'm fine with it.

THIRD one of these to break in six months

While I have been pleased with the overall quality and performance of my HP laptop, I have been extremely disappointed in the adapter replacement cords. I purchased my laptop in May and have had to replace this cord three times already. The last one I purchased in December and here I am ONE MONTH later, ordering another.

If this review would be better suited for the HP company, I would be glad to speak to them, but have not had any success in finding a place to voice my complaint online.

(Amazon was not to blame for the disappointment I have experienced with this product in any way.)

Already useless

I was so pleased to find a replacement cord at a reasonable price for my HP laptop. Out if desperation I paid the extra for one day shipping and was patting myself on the back when it fit perfectly. After using it 19 days it has now come apart and wires are exposed on the end that plugs into the laptop itself. I have been very careful in avoiding sharp kinks which didn't help a bit. Extremely disappointed.

Only works if I sit very still

This charger fits my HP Envy 4 Pro. It does come with both the the cord and the adapter, which is a nice surprise consider it's only the adapter part pictured. It's much smaller than the original adapter. Unfortunately it is not snug so I have to jiggle the cord to make sure it's giving a charge. It seems to come free at inopportune times. Lesson learned: go OEM or go home.

WRONG CHARGER

I order the charger in the description and got the total opposite. I understand that this company is not perfect but I am upset because I need my laptop for school. I waited 3 days for my charger and it turns out to be the wrong one for a different laptop. I order another one from a Different seller hopefully I will not receive the wrong one again.
