I'm a poor college student who happens to own a Lenovo Y500 ...

Alright I don't usually comment on my purchases but this buy was such a game changer it would be a shame not to.

I'm a poor college student who happens to own a Lenovo Y500 gaming laptop which has a side vent. However, I also don't live in the nicest place which means I don't have the luxury of air conditioning. That sucks for me but really sucks for my electronics, which can heat up to burning temperatures on hot days. My left hand literally cannot touch the QWER keys (which is pretty important for certain games) or else I risk burning my hand. I already use a cooling pad but that's not enough for laptops who don't even exhaust the majority of the heat through the bottom.

Enter this beautiful cooler. laptop cooler, you are a lifesaver. W This beast sucks out all the hot air PERFECTLY, even on default mode. As long as it's plugged in, it will work as soon as I turn on my laptop. The best part about the design is that the panel of the laptop cooler perfectly sits between my cooling pad and my laptop. Therefore. I could really nit pick on the proximity of the cooler to my laptop charger port, but that's more fault on Lenovo's design and wouldn't do justice to how well this cooler performs. I recommended this thing to all my friends - it's well worth the money.

Really does cool my laptop down

Works as intended. Quality decent. Really does cool my laptop down! My only suggestion would be to perhaps attach a couple of drops of superglue to supporting panel underneath the device as it does comeout easily if you move your laptop lots

I must not have read carefully enough, because I thought this vacuum fan actually attaches to the laptop. It does not. The laptop needs to sit on a flat surface in order to work, because this fan just sits next to it. The attached piece that I thought attached to the laptop actually just sits underneath (between the laptop and the table). I'm not sure what purpose that piece serves since it doesn't keep the fan from moving or anything. However, I did notice the left side of my keyboard was significantly cooler than usual while using this fan. I have not noticed my laptop running any smoother, but I feel better knowing at least it is not overheating. I did need to replace a hard drive last year for overheating, so I am hoping to avoid that with this fan. I just wish I could use it while sitting the laptop on my lap.
