Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 1600MHz PC3 SODIMM Laptop Memory 204 Pin CMSX8GX3M2A1600C9

From the Manufacturer

Vengeance laptop memory upgrade kits are designed for getting the most performance from notebook and laptop PCs. Vengeance memory modules are built with DRAM chips specially selected for their high-performance potential.

The SODIMM form factor allows you to bring award-winning Vengeance memory performance to your notebook PC.

High-Performance Vengeance Memory for your Laptop

More memory for more processing power

If you're a serious road warrior or you use your notebook for heavy-duty applications like photo and video editing, your notebook should have as much memory as possible. Adding a 4GB or 8GB laptop memory upgrade kit will allow you to multitask between more programs at once and load and edit larger files without having to wait for data to buffer to the drive.

Compatible with most laptop and notebook PCs

Vengeance laptop memory upgrade kits are designed to work with any PC or notebook which accepts standard DDR3 SODIMMs.

Optimized for Superior Performance on the Latest Laptops and Notebooks

Many laptops — even those sold as performance systems — come equipped with memory that's not capable of running at the maximum speed supported by the processor. If your notebook is equipped with a 2nd Generation Intel Core i5 or Core i7 processor, it will automatically detect the faster speed supported by the Vengeance laptop memory upgrade kit. No BIOS adjustments are necessary to take advantage of the faster memory speed.

A smart performance upgrade for older laptops, too

Vengeance memory is backward compatible with notebooks which use first-generation Intel Core i5 and Core i7 processors. Even if your notebook doesn't use the latest-generation processor, you can still upgrade to 8GB using only two memory slots, and enjoy the confidence of Corsair's renowned service and support.

Serious about PC memory? So are we.

Like the legendary Dominator, enthusiast-grade Vengeance DRAM is designed for stability, and stringently factory-tested.

Designed for Enthusiasts. Backed by Corsair.

World-famous reliability and performance

There's a reason why world-champion overclockers, extreme gaming enthusiasts and high-end system builders all trust Corsair for high-performance memory that they can install with confidence and pride. Whether you're breaking your own records or you're simply building a dream gaming rig, you can count on Corsair memory.

The Corsair Advantage

With a long history of building enthusiast-grade memory and components, we've earned a reputation for quality, compatibility, and performance. Need help? We're available by phone call, email or web forum.

I have a Mid-2012 13" inch Macbook pro. I stuck these sticks in, and it immediately recognized them, no hassle whatsoever. Very fast, and I have yet to see any problems. Highly recommended.

Simply put, this is a great memory module. It is faster than almost all other RAM in the same class offered on Amazon, for only a few dollars more. Get it.

This Corsair Vengeance laptop RAM is rated at 1600MHz frequency and maximum bandwidth of 12800 mebibytes per second. At 1600MHz it has 9-9-9-24 timing (if you don't know what that means, lower is better). Even if your laptop does not support running at 1600MHz, this RAM will run at a lower frequency to match that of your laptop, and will run noticeably faster due to the tighter latencies capable at lower frequencies. Just make sure the form factor is the same (DDR3, 204-pin, etc.)

I replaced the memory in my Acer Aspire One 722 netbook [with an AMD processor] with this RAM. The factory installed memory was a Kingston rated at 1333MHz (10666 mebibytes per second) with a timing of 9-9-9-25. The Corsair has similar timings, but at the higher 1600MHz frequency. The Corsair cannot run at its rated max frequency because it is limited by the max frequency of my laptop, so it dials down the frequency while also decreasing the latency timings. This basically means that this RAM ends up being faster than the stock RAM at the same frequency. For a direct comparison: At 1066MHz, the Kingston has 7-7-7-20 timings; the Corsair is better at 6-6-6-16. Most of the other 1600MHz/P3-12800 rated laptop RAMs have a CAS latency of 11, compared to 9 for the Corsair. Look at the CPU-Z image I've uploaded for evidence of how latency changes with frequency.

Corsair is a very reputable brand for memory. My laptop has been running noticeably faster when running memory-intensive tasks, like photo editing. It's also remained stable throughout. If you want even faster memory, there is a Corsair Vengeance rated at 1866MHz with 10-10-10-27 timing - but it costs twice as much.

Works as promised in my MacBook Pro 15" early-2011 model. Easy to install and definitely a much more noticeable change than the 1066 or 1300 Mhz RAM that I had tried beforehand. You definitely notice the latency compared to the other RAM's out there like the Crucial or Samsung. Make sure to do your research! This one does cost a bit more than the other ones but worth the price upgrade. I was considering a 16GB (2 x 8GB) Kit upgrade as opposed to this but since I don't do any powerhouse computing I opted to save myself the extra $150 that it would cost to get the 16GB over the 8GB kit and put that towards an SSD which also has proven an incredible speedy upgrade for my MacBook Pro.

Worth every penny!

Works with Macbook Pro 13" mid 2012. Bought this for the 9-9-9-24 latency if Im not mistaken, and it runs at 1600mhz. Had it for more than 2 weeks I think and no probs at all. Very happy with my purchase.

I have an Asus n53 series laptop with core i7 that originally came with only 4G memory with windows memory score of 5.9. I upgraded to 16G with stock type sodimm (1333MHz)and my memory index score went up to 7.6. However, I noticed that performance-wise, my computer wasn't any quicker... perhaps because it was already a fast computer. Then I discovered these corsair vengeance sodimms. I bought the 2 x 4G deal (8G total) just because everyone is saying that these vengeance are soooooo great. So I switched out the 16G stock type memory for 8G of these corsair vengeance... and my memory experience index score shot straight up to 7.9. I was extremely surprised that 16G stock wasn't even performing at the level of just 8G of the corsair vengeance. And yes, I do notice my programs starting up in less time than usual. Now I'm gonna buy another 8 gigs of these vengeance sodimms to have 16G total in my laptop.

Prior to buying this, I was torn between Crucial, Samsung and Kingston memory modules of more or less the same frequency and memory capacity. They had more reviews and ratings than this Corsair Vengeance kit, but I decided to go with it because I have always purchased Corsair flash memory and it served me great at blazing speeds. I do a lot of Graphic Design work as a student and needed the extra memory, and being tech savvy I couldn't help but do a lot of research before buying this. That said, I'm impressed by Corsair yet again!

The timings of this memory are 9-9-9-24 (Lower means Better!), which is extremely fast for a module running at 1600Mhz. My processor is the Core i5-2520M (Sandy Bridge) and can only accept memory frequency ranges of up to 1333Mhz :( but I bought it knowing this would happen anyway. Why? Because of the benefits from downclocking this to 1333MHz!

-[Unlike the newer series up from the i7 2720QM which accepts 1600MHz. So if you have the 2720QM, 2760QM or better you can run this at its rated frequency]-

It downclocks to 1333Mhz and runs at LOWER timings of 8-8-8-20 at this frequency. It is priced the same as 1333MHz Crucial and Samsung and has timings that are way better, and this makes a noticeable difference when you're running a lot of resource-hogging applications like Photoshop and Illustrator, and even while gaming.

I already had a 4GB module on my HP Elitebook 8460p, but I swapped it out for this kit and am running this in dual channel mode while I figure out how on earth I survived with just 4GB of memory that was so much slower! Also, I tested out 1 Vengeance module versus my older pre-installed Samsung memory and it's still noticeably faster!

Pros:-
- Easy to attach, if you know what you're doing.
