ok travel-size mouse

Using this mouse as I'm writing this review. This is a tiny mouse, about 3.5 x 2 inches. Very basic, the two buttons and the wheel. No CD comes with it. The retractable cable works, but it's very thin. Construction-wise I'd be surprised if it lasts a year.

One good thing I noticed is that it works on different surfaces without a pad, I tried it on wood/melamine table and marble top so far. It will not work well on glass.

Cheap mouse but works well

The mouse works perfectly, the surface is matte so it doesn't accumulate sweat/stickiness, and it's perfectly portable. Great for my laptop.

Update: It's been 4 months and it's still working perfectly.

Updated: Perfect little mouse, died too soon

My original review when I bought it: The mouse is accurate, worked perfectly out of the box, and is compact but large enough to still be comfortable. The retractable feature is wonderfully convenient, but takes a little bit of getting used to, as it means there is a small amount of tension on the mouse as you pull it further from the computer. Overall, it has all the convenience of a wireless without the hassle of changing batteries. It looks well made and sturdier than other inexpensive items of this kind that I've bought in the past. I am very pleased.

My update: At the age of about 14 weeks, this mouse went belly up. One day, without warning or any visible damage to the cord, the mouse no longer could be powered by any USB port. Even for an inexpensive product, this was not an acceptable lifespan. To their credit, Amazon refunded the purchase price and I bought a Logitech compact corded mouse, which cost more than double (and I hope lasts much longer).

short life

The mouse was bigger than I expected -- when I saw mini mouse, I was thinking laptop mini I guess. I could deal with that though. It was easy to plug in and start using it. I bought this mouse b/c my laptop built-in mouse completely quit. This mouse lasted 25 days, then it would not turn on. The optical light stayed off. Because I cannot use my built-in mouse, I had to do a hard shutdown on my laptop, and until I unplugged the Daffodil mouse and left it out, my laptop refused to boot up, staying on a completely black screen. A couple of restarts later, the mouse still wouldn't work when reattached. I returned it, and received a prompt refund from amazon, but I will not buy another daffodil mouse. This might have been a case of a random defective mouse, but I don't have time to deal with another mouse if it fails, and am not willing to take a chance.

The Scrollwheel

I found the scrollwheel to be sticky and doesn't roll as easy as some I have had. Other than that everything is great. Delivery was fast and I do like it. Just wish it didn't stick.
