Best school backpack ever.

I can't believe I finally found a company that makes pretty and fashionable packs that are also durable and sturdy. I expect that I'll get tired of the design long before this thing wears out. I can put all of my college textbooks in here, plus three large spirals, my macbook pro, a liter bottle of water, makeup bag, large wallet, tons of pens, charger, recorder, cellphone and ipod, and there was still room. The straps are comfortable and I have a bad back. The weight distribution is excellent. Oh and the insulated pocket... forget your lunch box, you won't need it anymore. If you are a student or professor that actually carries their books and tons of papers this is your pack. There are plenty of great patterns and fabrics to choose from. I actually had a hard time picking one because I loved several. These are definitely made for a teen or woman's sized body. An elementary student would find this pack overlarge for their frame. I will definitely purchase from Dakine again.

I absolutely LOVE this backpack. I'm using it for college and it can fit everything I need and more(multiple textbooks, binders, and my 14' laptop). Plus the colors are true to the picture. This is all around a perfect purchase!

Perfect replacement for a diaper bag!

I travel with my toddler a ton and have been through three diaper bags. It dawned on me, being hands free while chasing a toddler through the airport might make more sense, so I started looking for the perfect backpack. (Not sure why more diaper bag companies don't make them in backpack form.)

I looked at this bag online for a couple weeks before pulling the trigger and I'm so glad I did. I can keep both of our things in this bag. When we travel I can fit half a dozen diapers two changes of clothes for her, a change of clothes for me, my laptop, wallet and toiletries. Her toys, snacks, leap pad and books - you name it. And with the pockets the way they're arranged, I can keep it all organized. Plus, I LOVE the design on the exterior.

Can't recommend this backpack enough. It has been a total lifesaver!

I love this backpack, not only is the print cute ( I got the blue one w/ deers) it's also very functional. The inside is bright red and is very soft. This backpack has many pockets & compartments; It has a side pocket for a water bottle and even a pocket for your glasses, if you ever need that. The pocket in which the laptop goes in is padded and it also has like a so you can cover the top of the laptop so it feels very secure over all in there. (I realize I didn't explain myself correctly so I will include a picture). Very happy with the purchase.-- Ruby A.

This is the second of these backpacks that I have owned. I have had the first for three years and it is still holding up nicely so I wanted to get another color. It is really well designed and all the pockets and compartments are useful. Highly recommend!

Watch out for the Color!

Bought this for school and was really looking forward to getting it. The only problem is when it arrived it was brown and red not pink and purple as it appears in the picture. A slight disappointment. The design is fun, though. It has some nice features like the sun glass holder and the insulator pocket, although only there is only one mesh pop out water bottle holder, yet two zip-up compartments for them. The {red} paint has also started chipping on several zipper pulls. It is very well made, good water resistant canvas, quality stitching. Just know it's not pink and purple. :(

The bag is spacious and fits a lot at once but the shoulder straps arent the most comfortable and the front 2 compartments of the bag make it feel heavier when they are being used.
The material itself isn't too bad because it is quite water resistant in the rain but the zippers could be a bit better

Great for Grad Student w/laptop needs! See pic!!

I just got this backpack and I was quite worried about the space, and almost got the dakine jewel pack instead. I can easily fit my 13" MacBook Air plus one large textbook, and 4 notebooks plus a pencil and cable case. I think if I had another large textbook I would have to either only have 2 notebooks or maybe put the pencil and cable pouch above the books because there is room at the top of the bag.

Love that it has enough space for stuff and wanted ro post a pic for others worried about the space.

Will update the review once I use it for a week!

Received a different backpack
