I bought this screen support for my RAM mount in my Crown Victoria and it does work well. It keeps the screen from moving and helps with the glare since it stays in a constant position while driving. I am glad i bought it, but the only problem is that it does not fit flush on the back of the laptop tray and i need to stuff paper or something to keep it tight against the back so it wont wiggle while driving.

Overall a good purchase and keeps the screen from moving, which is exactly what i wanted!!

Not a good buy

If you buy the RAM computer stand and have a laptop with a reasonably ridged monitor hinge you do not need the screen holder. Set it up and use it before you buy this add on. Also it does not have a rubber pad to protect the screen so it will scar the right side.

Best choice for a laptop mount

Well made, instructions are a little weak, not clear about which bolts to loosen etc. Called them and got great customer service. Main reason for 4 stars is the vertical stability is only ok. The plate that slides under the seat bolts extends forward and overhangs the floor board with any support (such as a vertical jack screw to push down on floor) and when driving down the road the whole assemble oscillates. Only quick cure was a couple of bungees from vertical pole/pipe to the underside of the dash board. Since it still shakes I'm going to fabricate a bracket to clamp to the vertical pole/pipe, extending forward. The bracket will have a tab with a couple holes in it and I will drill holes in the lower dashboard facia to attach the bracket there.

Unit came with lots of pieces and parts some of which are not used so do not panic on that account. Better instruction details needed here as well.

Holds Laptop Lid Securely

This holds my laptop lid securely with less bouncing and jostling of the lid while driving. No install instructions were included so I had to zoom in on internet images to figure out where/how to start. This mounts to the back edge of the laptop tray, not the side. The top support arm holds the laptop lid by pulling out and then turning the support piece so it pinches from the front and back of the lid.

A must for those using laptops in a vehicle

One of the biggest issues we have with finding good laptops is the screen hinge. Riding in a vehicle and hitting bumps all day causes the screen hinges to weaken and the screen to bounce around like a toy. This little arm is great for stopping this. we really like them and add the arm to all of our laptops in the field.

Waste of money.

This thing was a total waste of money. You only open the laptop when you are stationary. The clips on the sides of the laptop table will not allow the top to close anyway. If you leave a regular sized laptop with the cover totally open you risk blocking your vision anyway. Save your money.

Maybe is just the design, but I expected Something more rigid to hold my screen from moving. Still does the job well but has some lose movement, enough to see it. Not enough to fail. No installation hardware provided (bolts, shims, etc). Easy installation.
