Dell XPS 13 13.3-inch Touchscreen Laptop (XPS9343-7273SLV)

Features

Erase borders, starting with the display.

The XPS 13 isn't just the smallest 13-inch laptop on the planet, it also has the world's first virtually borderless infinity display.

The smallest 13-inch on the planet with the world’s first infinity display

Large screen, small laptop: The virtually borderless infinity display cleverly fits a 13-inch display into the size of an 11-inch laptop. Compared to the Apple MacBook Air 13, the XPS 13 is 23% smaller with the same size screen.

Impressive screen size: The thin bezel frees up the screen space in this innovative design. The three-sided, virtually borderless infinity display measures a miniscule 5.2mm border: the thinnest frame on a notebook. With a slim bezel of less than 2% of the total display, you have more screen to love.

Thin build: Not only is the XPS 13 small, it's also stunningly thin to make it an ideal mobile companion. At only 9-15 millimeter thick and starting at only 2.6 pounds (1.18 kilogram), it is easy to stick in your purse or bag while you are on the go.

Stunning view

Stunning UltraSharp QHD+ resolution (3200x1800): There are over 2.5 times as many pixels as FHD, 5 times as many as HD and 4.4 times as many as the MacBook Air 13 (or other products with HD+ displays).

Easy to share: See content clearly from almost any angle with an IGZO2 IPS panel, providing a wide viewing angle of up to 170°. Enjoy the vibrant screen together with your friends.

Brighten your day: The screen is brilliant enough to watch movies in sunlight without missing the details. At 400-nit, it’s up to 100% brighter than a typical panel (200-nit) for a great view even outside. With a high color gamut of 72% and a high contrast ratio of 1000:1, more colors are represented so you can see the brightest brights and the darkest darks.

Small size. Big performance

Start faster: Enjoy the speed, clarity and improved graphics with the new 5th Generation Intel Core processors.

Stay powered longer: With up to 15 hours of run time on the FHD display (and 11 hours on the QHD+), it’s leading the industry in battery life.*

Speedy start up: The XPS 13 boots and resumes** in seconds thanks to a standard solid state drive and Intel Rapid Start Technology.

Improved usability

Pinch, zoom and click with precision

The improved touch pad delivers the exact action you intend, every time, so no more jumping or floating cursors. It delivers fluid panning, pinching and zooming, for an experience that’s touch screen-smooth and quick, and similar to the gestures you are used to on screen. And with Accidental Activation Prevention, there are no more mis-clicks when your palm hits the touch pad.

See what you’ve been missing

This standard backlit keyboard lights up your keys and your ideas. No need to squint in low-light or no-light rooms while typing. Once you experience this added feature, you won’t be able to live without it.

Premium materials for a stunning design and durability

Tough stuff: Machined aluminum construction means the XPS 13 is precision-cut from a single block of aluminum for a sturdy, durable chassis.

Cool under pressure: XPS products use carbon fiber that is similar to what is used for some of the world’s high performance cars and racing bikes for a stellar combination of lightweight and strength. The palm rest is strong and thin like aluminum, but lighter and cooler to the touch.

Resists life’s 'oops' moments: The Corning Gorilla Glass NBT QHD+ display is up to 10 times more scratch resistant than soda lime glass, so it helps prevent scuffs caused by handling, cleaning or wiping.

Greenest XPS laptop ever

Power-efficient: It’s more power-efficient than ever, enough to be ENERGY STAR 6.0 certified.

Smarter materials: Built with the environment in mind, the XPS 13 is free of concerning materials like lead, mercury and some phthalates. The greenest XPS laptop ever, it’s also EPEAT Gold registered*** and BFR/PVC-free.

Recycle-friendly: The rapidly renewable bamboo trays are 100% recyclable, so you won’t worry about your environmental footprint. And an impressive 90% of the laptop’s parts can be easily recycled or reused.

Its been a few days now and I have gotten a good feel for this laptop. If you've done the proper research and read various tech blog and review sites about this machine then you will know what it has to offer. I must say that after using it for the first week, I agree with virtually every article out there when I say, Wow!

I am coming from a 13 inch Macbook Air that I absolutely love and constantly say is the best machine I have ever owned, hands down. I really wanted a worthy replacement in the ultrabook department. I did not want to wait for the long-rumored Retina Air, and I operate a Macbook Pro for work, so this fit in nicely.

The screen is gorgeous. Nearly bezel-less is correct and it doesn't stand out as much as the aluminum in the Macbook Air. The carbon fiber used in the palm rests is stunning. Soft touch, not cold like aluminum and doesn't show grease marks like plastic. Top quality materials here. Battery life is good, even with the QHD Touch display, in the 6-8 hour range I'd say, depending on what you decide to do with it.

The biggest drawback is of course Windows 8.1, and although knowing that going in, I am now more than eagerly awaiting Windows 10. Hopefully they will correct what is so terribly wrong with all things 8.1. Also, while the screen is beautiful, you have to change the power profile to High Performance or the frame rate lags on videos to pump out all those pixels. Scaling on some websites and even third party apps and GUIs doesn't look right. Either the text scales but the UI elements don't (so you have no idea what that button says) or its all so tiny you have to hold the machine in your face. It doesn't detract from the overall experience, but it is noticeable on some websites that don't really know how to scale properly.

Seems like going private was a good decision, this is a great product.

I have never been a fan of small size laptops, but I love this computer. I visit Best Buy frequently and enjoy keeping an eye on the latest computer offerings. I must say, this machine rivals any offering by any computer manufacturer, including Apple. First, this laptop is incredubly slim and compact. No disc drive, but that is not a big deal at all. I just plugged my portable disc drive into the USB port and installed everything I wanted to. This machine is also incredibly lightweight. Super portable.

I am a fairly large guy and before the computer arrived, I was afraid the computer keyboard would be undersized. Not at all the case. This is a full size, backlit keyboard. The backlighting feature also works perfectly. The touch of the keys is perfect. No "getting used to it" period required. The 256 GB SSD is blazingly fast. The i5 processor combined with the 8 GB RAM handles all tasks thrown it incredibly quickly and with ease. The 3200 x 1800 resolution display surpasses everything else currently in use. It is striking! It is also near borderless, so the display size is much larger than you would expect for a case this size.

The construction is top rate. The aluminum case is perfect. No evidence of a gap anywhere. No flexing. The inner computer surrounding the keyboard is made from carbon fiber. The touch is exquisite. The packaging of the computer is also well engineered. An inner two part "gift box," inside the standard, cushioned computer shipping box. The power cord and transformer are even magnificent. You will see what I mean if you ever get a chance to see a member of this Dell XPS family up close.

If you are looking for a compact, lightweight, incredibly fast (due mainly to the Intel Core i5-5200U 2.

This is the first review I’ve ever written. Hands down this is also the best laptop I’ve ever purchased. It delivers all of the must-have features of a larger machine in a light-weight and sleek package. The display is fantastic. The backlit keyboard is a huge plus for me. I’m typing this in a dark room, and I’m having no issues seeing the keys. Also, I’ve always preferred to use a mouse over the touchpad. Now that I have a touch screen, I can ditch the mouse!

If Microsoft had better offerings in their app store, this laptop could completely replace my iPad.

I do love this laptop. Love the 256GB SSD. Rarely use its touch screen capability, but seems to work just fine. I am used to the smaller keyboards found on ultrabooks. The display is awesome. The only issue I have is its extremely high screen resolution. Some of my applications have trouble dealing with 3200 x 1800. Google Earth thinks the laptop doesn't have a high res display and works in low res mode. Dashlane is so small it's very difficult to read. The laptop doesn't play well with my projector.

Style Name: Core i5 Vine Customer Review of Free Product ( What's this? )
I wasn't sure that anything could tempt me away from my beloved MacBook Pro, but the Dell XPS 13-inch laptop has managed the impossible. At just 2.8(!!!) pounds and 12x7.9-inches, this thing is practically a tablet. But it packs all of the comfort, features and design of a full-sized computer. In fact, it is much smaller than my 13-inch MacBook Pro thanks to a practically non-existent bezel around the screen and a full-sized keyboard with practically no border around the keys. It is honestly the smallest 13-inch computer I have ever seen and certainly the most powerful. It's like having the guts of a 13-inch MacBook Pro stuffed into the frame of an 11-inch MacBook Air.

Housed in a sleek, machined-aluminum exterior that exhibits no gaps, no bending and provides sturdy protection, it looks every bit as stylish as the MacBook Air but with a ton more computer packed inside. The edge-to-edge display is stunning to look at - it just seems somehow more modern in appearance without that massive bezel around the display that most computers have. The aluminum case hides fingerprints and resists scratches.

The XPS13 doesn't compromise on power to pack in all that style, however. With a 3200X1800 pixel display, images are tack sharp and stunningly brilliant. I edit photos and had no trouble getting all the detail I expect from a high-end monitor. It also has very little glare, so you can see your screen without all the distracting glare that other monitors exhibit, even in a bright room.

With an Intel Core i5 550GPU processor with Turbo Boost, you have plenty of power under the hood. Add to that a 256 GB solid state drive (230 available) and 8 GB DDR3 and you have one blazingly fast computer.
