I started to buy the other knock-off charger, but after reading the reviews I decided to purchase this one. I am so glad I did! Just like other reviews state the shipping was super fast. I purchased it one afternoon and it was at my door within 48 hours. I would definitely purchase this again and recommend this seller. The cord is super long which is great, and the charger is much slimmer than my original. I purchased this for my Dell Studio 1737 and it works perfectly.

DOESN'T WORK WITH DELL STUDIO XPS 1640

I have a Dell Studio XPS 1640 laptop and I purchased this as a replacement for my original Dell power adapter that is broken, but it doesn't work properly for my laptop as advertised. When I plug it in my laptop I get a pop-up box that says "The AC power adapter type cannot be determined. Your system will operate slower and battery will not charge. Please connect a Dell 90W AC adapter or higher for best system operation." Well, it did power the laptop, but DID NOT charge the battery. I read the reviews on this product, The otherchargers listed were lacking reviews< So it wasnt the cheapest nor the most expensive.

1st. This damn thing gets HOTT!! you deffinatly dont want it laying on something you dont want burnt. I actually got it hot enough it shut down.

2nd. I like the blue ight on the end, makes it easy to find

3rd. its smaller, but when cords get wrapped around it, basically the same size

4th. It didnt catch on fire like the El Cheapo I got from Ebay! (Seller did refund my money plus shipping after i sent him pics)

I will be on the look out for an OEM Dell charger that just gets warm

I purchased this new Dell charger, and everything looked great. However, when I plug it into my computer, the battery meter keeps switching between plugged in and battery power. I am very disappointed with this product. The next one I purchase will be an iGo with changable tips. These work quite well and for many different laptops.

A good deal for a real Dell power cord

I went back and forth about ordering a real Dell power cord or a cheap knockoff. After reading a lot of reviews, I decided to go with a Dell cord. I received the cord much faster than I thought I would (less than a week). I have had it for about 2 weeks now and have had no problems. The cord even has the 2 light at the end of the chord like my original one did. I am very happy with my purchase.

First use, and dies with in 2 hours, Disappointing - Second one is Great!

When I first opened this charger, it looked great, very similar to the original one for my Dell Studio 1555. So I plugged it into my laptop right away, and the blue light on the charger came on and it worked fine. Then within the hour, I noticed the blue light turned off, and I thought this was very odd. So I rechecked the wires, and everything was plugged in fine, I even checked the pc to adapter wire, then the adapter to outlet wire, and both of those were plugged in correctly also. At this point with in the hour, with the blue light off, the adapter itself was very hot. This is no lie, the adapter itself was very hot, which means that the adapter is fuctioning, but for some reason the blue light still won't turn on. I either recieved a very faulty OEM adapter, or these are not built for durability but looks. In the end, there was no option to return the product so I filed a claim with the seller, and now am waiting for either a replacement charger, or a refund. It is ridiculous that the adapter stops working after an hour. When I bought a previous cheaper and bulkier adapter it lasted well over a year. This adapter died within the hour. This is very dissappointing, till I recieve a functioning Dell OEM adapter, I would recommend you stay away from this adapter, and get the large short bulky adapter instead atleast it lasts longer and doens't get as hot as this adapter did.

-- Update I got a new adapter replacement from my seller, and this new one is great! There are absolutely nothing wrong with it, it is the dell OEM adapter, and I would recommend getting it. But becareful you might get a bad one so double check! Rating it 4/5 For the deffictive one I originally recieved, but the new one is functioning very well.

I cannot tell you how many chargers I have been through over a two year period....too many. A few months back I had the displeasure for looking for another one since my "imposter" charger ceased to work and I stumbled upon this one. I have always been a person who heavily relies on reviews because that's just how I role. However, with choosing chargers, relying on reviews has come back to haunt me because they RARELY live up to their stellar reviews. The thing that got me to order this charger was that it looked exactly like the one my brother had received with his laptop (and still has and still works perfectly) so I figured I would take my chances on this one. I purposely waiting to write this review because I really wanted to put this to the test. Since getting this charger I have also replaced my laptop battery and I must say I was a bit worried as I have read that replacing the battery sometimes will mean that the charger you use will not ALWAYS be compatible with the battery. Low and behold, battery and charger work just fine together and I couldn't be happier.

Do yourself a favor, stop fooling with the "imitation" chargers that claim to use genuine Dell components/parts and choose this one. The entire experience from choosing, ordering, receiving and using this charger has been amazing! Thank you!
