I needed a new laptop for school so shopped around and found this to be the best deal for me. I was worried about windows 10 because I tried windows 8 once and it was impossible to use. Luckily my gamble paid off! 10 is great and very familiar, feels like a cross between Vista and XP.it runs well and the laptop is perfect sized. Not too small but great size for travel. its very light and seems to have fair battery life. very happy with this purchase and I actually like this pc over my $1500 MacBook pro!

Bought this from a different store but wanted to share my experience and hopefully help others who may have questions about this.

I love this PC - for the price it's an amazing deal. The ability to upgrade to a SSD and 8GB of memory are awesome.

The system runs just fine with the included 500GB and 4GB of memory, but its nice to know if you wanted an extra boost, you could. I've loaded this up with about 10 games, most play just fine.

WoW plays on all low, 30 FPS in Stormwind, almost 50 outside of the city.
Company of Heroes plays great, no lag.

Windows 10 is great on this and its very snappy. I am enjoying the new OS and the touch screen element makes it nice in tablet mode.

The build quality is excellent, the hinges feel very sturdy and the keyboard is just right. My touchpad can be sketchy sometimes, but not enough to knock off a star.

When I first got this the screen would dim on its own and I thought I got a dud, but its a setting in the intel graphics control panel, so you can disable it.

All in all for the price, I am thrilled with the purchase and if you're not looking to push the limits on gaming ,I think the speed and portability, along with the option to switch it to a tablet, makes this a great purchase.

:)

Some of the letters on the keyboard stopped working after a month. The letters would only start working after an hour or two when the computer was warmed up. Be prepare for a lack of customer service. Called Customer Support which is located in India. They are extremely pleasant and polite but know nothing of computers. My last call took them one hour to order me a box to ship the computer to the repair shop. It took them 15 minutes to find the repair shop's phone number. Their emails always ask for a best time to call which they never adhere to. It appears their normal call back times are at 9 p.m. no matter what one lists as a call back time.

Overall decent for 400 bucks. It is a bit on the slower side but for school and office work its fine. Streaming media like YouTube and Netflix is fine.

Be sure to install the Dell Support option. Then let it install the updates...this fixes mouse pad issues.

An unusual feature is ability to replace parts like ram and hard drive. Not sure if this applies to the battery but probably does. Also has standard HDMI out port.

I bought this Dell product because I read good reviews of it ! However , after setting up my computer , I kept getting disconnected from the Internet and I got a limited access message on the computer screen. It would take about 20 minutes for the computer to actually connect to the Internet and sometimes more. The Internet at home is working right so I called Dell support ! I explained them what the issue was and the Dell representative kept me on the phone for about 2 hours just to tell me at the end that my computer had a hardware malfunction and in order to fix the issue I had to pay about one hundred dollars more ! I don't know if I got unlucky for getting a defective product ! But I do know that I am very dissapointed on Dell products and Dell support ! It is just a trap to get more money ! I will never buy a Dell product again.

I recently ordered one of these for my wife to replace her dying 10" Asus 1001pxd. I didn't have particularly high expectations since the basic specifications on the CPU, RAM, HD, and graphics were not incredibly better that what was being replaced. However, the computer is much zippier than I expected. It isn't as fast as my i7 laptop but I didn't expect that. The CPU itself benchmarked about 3x faster than her 5 year old laptop but the biggest difference seems to be a newer generation graphics chip and WiFi. Together those made this a nice upgrade ignoring the 2-in-1 form factor and touch screen. It is a few ounces heavier than her old Asus but that isn't particularly noticeable. The build quality seems good enough and only time will tell.

We liked it well enough that I shortly ordered two more to replace my son's 12" Acer laptops which were a couple of years newer than my wife's Asus 10" netbook. I really didn't expect much of an improvement over these computers since they were even nicer and newer. However, one son was having trouble with a broken trackpad and I didn't see putting replacing off until it broke completely. So we got two more.

Now for the odd thing. All three were ordered from Amazon directly. The first computer to arrive came with Windows 10. The next two came with Windows 8.1 and we had to download the upgrade to Windows 10. That seemed very odd and I don't know if the recovery media will take us back to Windows 10 or 8.1. The two 8.1 computers also had more bloatware. All three had Mcafee (removed) but only the 8.1 computers had Adobe Revel, Wyse PocketCloud, Amazon, and eBay applications.

Now to see how the three do in more long-term use.
