I love this laptop!! Please note, that it does not come with a DVD/CD+RW drive. But it comes with so much more. So first off, if you haven't used Windows 8.1, there is a slight learning curve. However, I've used it very briefly on my mother's Dell (Non-Touch) and I actually find it much easier to learn with the touchscreen. I also like being able to swipe through web pages and even swipe from program to program using the touch screen. I'm interested in seeing how Windows 10 will be. FYI, if you will have an invitation for a free update to Windows 10 when you first log onto your computer.

The computer itself feels pretty sturdy. It's not flimsy. The silver on top of the lid is a brushed metal - very classy. My mom's Dell is the same, but it's a Merlot color. I was at first bummed that it didn't come in a color, but I'm ok that it's silver. I actually think my mom's is plastic that looks like brushed metal. I'm pretty certain the silver on the lip on this Dell is metal.

I initially ordered another Dell 17" Non-Touch, but there were some complications with shipping and I opted for the 15.6" Touchscreen. I'm so glad I switched. The 15" screen is a very decent size. The extra two inches, IMHO, was not necessary. It's fairly thin. Much thinner than my mother's 17'. Another plus is the back-lit keyboard. I tend work on my computer at night and its so helpful to be able to see what I'm typing. Speaking of the keyboard, the keys are very low-profile quiet when typing.

Someone earlier mentioned the fan being loud. I have not had that issue. So all in all, I love this computer. It's speedy, sturdy, and a great buy!

Best Computer I have had. I upgraded to 16GB ram and a hybrid drive. I'm not a fan of Win 8.1 but will do the Win 10 upgrade soon. The touch screen works well and having a dedicated number pad is nice.

Someone is asking about removing the battery. I removed two phillips screws and pried off the back panel and the battery is held in with four phillips screws. I would think it could be swapped out in under five minutes with a low level of skill. Just be careful when prying off the panel. See attached photo. I hope this helps you.

I spent last night starting to get the computer set up. The only thing that I am very disappointed in is that there is no way to configure a middle click on the trackpad. Windows 10 (which installed easily) has three and four finger options for the trackpad (one finger is left click, two is right click) but neither of those can be configured as a middle click. Also, the trackpad continues onto the buttons, so it's both difficult to feel where the right and left click buttons are, and clicking them tends to cause the cursor to jump. I don't *think* this is too much of a hardship, as the one- and two-finger clicks seem to work well.

In general, Windows 10 offers more trackpad configuration options than Windows 8.1, so I'd definitely recommend you do the upgrade. As you might have heard, Windows 10 installs with the option to share your wifi password TURNED ON. I turned it off as soon as possible.

Also, numberlock got turned off every time I restarted, so I fixed it so that it'll always be on. (http://tweaks.com/windows/67063/enable-num-lock-on-the-windows-10-lock-screen/)

I'm an IT professional. I bought this laptop after seeing the hardware configuration. I used more than 15 laptops so far. but this is the worse laptop I ever found. the performance of the laptop is too low. I can hear cracking noise from the hard disk and WiFi is disconnecting every 20-30 min while my other old laptops and phones are connected without any issue to the same wifi. if somebody still need to buy this, its up to you and remember than it has only HDMI port to connect to external monitors (no VGA or DVI ports) and no DVD writer/ROM.
speaker sound is sucks. sound like a 1$ speakers from a dollar store.

an update- after some research of why i5 processes with 8gb memory having a performance issue. I found that processors models ending with "U" mean its law power consuming processors (ex i5-5200U) which mean definitely performance will be low. so if you need laptop with good performance . don't buy any processor models ending with "U". mobile processors (M) better than "U". most of the slim laptops has "U" model processors to save battery power as it comes with very thin batteries. I would keep this laptop if the wifi connection was stable

I ordered this computer for my brother-in-law. He has been using it non-stop. I've gotten to watch a few videos on it and the clarity is amazing. He is most impressed with the touch screen functions. I plays online games and he said it has really helped using the touch screen as opposed to a mouse. The battery life on this computer is also amazing. I've seen my brother-in-law sitting outside for hours without plugging it in. This laptop is very thin and easy to carry around.
