I find the touchpad difficult to control, the clicking sometimes unresponsive, and when it does respond it keeps me waiting. And sometimes it clicks on something I don't want when I am merely moving the cursor across the screen.

I Can't Say Bad Enough Things

I could not be more wildly disappointed in this terrible product and the terrible customer service. I will never buy another Dell product for my business.

We ordered this Dell for a new employee. Immediately out of the box the computer displayed severe performance issues, lagging and using excessive memory performing even the most basic of tasks such as running MS Outlook. After our internal tech support was unable to trouble shoot we called Dell support. After 4 hours on the phone (no exaggeration) the only help they were able to offer us was to tell us there was "junk on the computer" (an exact quote) and that we needed to pay them $99 to run a proprietary Dell cleaning software, or $230 for a 3 year support contract.

Horrible and Fustrating

So I needed a new Windows 7. Old fashioned I guess. So I replaced a Dell with a Dell. Got it today. WOW. The mouse is horrible! There are dozens of pop ups (not in a browser) to do things that you can't stop. My Norton 360 could not stop virus when I installed it. In fact, Norton helped me remotely, and suggested I return it, which I did and Amazon arranged for a pickup and refund. One final thought, the mouse pad is not close to the edge; rather, about 2 inches in and very uncomfortable. So, sadly I left Dell on this one.

Don't buy this computer - you will regret it

I purchased a similar version of this computer (Inspiron 5547) in December of 2014 and have regretted it from day one. The keyboard and touch pad are very poorly made. The touch pad failed within four months of purchase, and despite hours on the phone with Dell customer support and sending it in to be repaired, it has never worked correctly since the problem began. I have noticed that if I have even the slightest amount of moisture on my hands (like on a warm August day), then the touch pad stops working or goes haywire. Today the computer locked up and is stuck in an alternating pattern between the Windows app screen and the desk top. I am very close to writing this computer off as a complete loss and buying a new one...from a different manufacturer. Save your money, your time and your frustration - buy a laptop from someone other than Dell.

Step up and buy the Lattitude!

I bought this to replace a 6 yr old Dell Latitude. Same Intel Core I3, and similar specs. If I need a laptop and they are both setting there I will pick up the old Latitude. The mouse on the Inspiron is subpar, chrome locks up while the computer thinks about doing what I want it to. Wish I had spent the extra money for a Latitude.

Laptop LOVE

I love my new laptop. It was reasonably priced and I'm so happy to have it. In order to get one that had a 10-key on the keyboard, it is quite large. This id's not a problem for me, however as it has a large screen. Free Windows 10 upgrade ran smoothly. One other feature I would line to highlight is that it does not get hot when holding it directly on your lap.
