Freezing piece of junk

It got a one only because I can't give it a zero. Stay away from the 3543, it has a notorious reputation for freezing up. Dell is aware of the problem, and refuses to do anything about it. I bought one, and it started freezing within the first hour of use, and freezes constantly ever since. I'm returning it for a refund. I called Dell and they basically said that I needed to pay them for "software support" for a brand new machine before they'd do anything with it. Google this machine and freeze, and you'll find out this is a widespread problem. The problem only seems to be there when the wi-fi adapter is turned on, when it's off the machine runs fine. Dell denies it's a hardware problem; but it is either the hardware or the driver. Both dell's responsibility.

Good, cheap, and lightweight laptop. However, have some Sleep, Touchpad, and Picture/Color issues - Windows 8.1 or Dell?

Very lightweight compared to my old laptop and the battery lasts a very long time. Overall, it's a good, cheap laptop and you get what you pay for.

However, noted issues that are either due to the laptop or Windows 8.1:
-After going to Sleep, Mouse lost all Dell/Synaptics settings for speed and all gestures. Full shutdown and restart may fix it, but tried other solutions found on the web (starting with driver update) and more or less it's okay now
-On that note, the Dell tools say that I have no drivers to update, but when going to Dell Web Support to look for those touchpad drivers, I saw many drivers that did in fact have an update. Why weren't these found?
-I guess due to the low overall resolution allowed on the laptop, 1024x768, pictures aren't that clear
-More so, all of my pictures and screen colors have this weird slightly blurry/pastel orange hue to them it seemed. So looked this up multiple times and eventually changed my Color settings to a different scheme that makes everything a little more white-washed, but at least I didn't look orange in my pictures for example

Worst laptop I've ever owned

Worst laptop I've ever owned and I have owned probably 15 Dell laptops. It is still in warranty and I have had multiple issues since March that Dell is unable to fix. The motherboard has been replaced three times, Bios and drivers have been replaced twice. Sent to depot the last time and no work was done and they sent it back without the power cable. They agreed to send someone to my home who put the third motherboard in, replaced the defective power button. But he said it was pointless to reinstall the operating system because now the fan was running way too hot. And don't get me started on the abysmal customer service from Dell. Even though their warranty says repair or replace, they refuse to replace it. Their are some good products, but definitely not this one. When you buy any Dell product be prepared to be on the phone for hours as their hold time is off the charts.

Not worth the money!

Don't waste your money on this! I have had nothing but problems with this laptop! It freezes up, it shuts down and takes away all my desktop setting randomly (the background picture and custom color) I have to manually clear the cache every few weeks or the internet is so slow that it takes a while to even type something out! Speaking of internet... the only browser it will run properly is Explorer. It barely functions after running Netflix or Photoshop even if you exit out of them... and I find the touchscreen pointless. That is a feature I just don't use.

Buy a different laptop, because this one is not worth the money! I would give it a zero rating if I could.
