It is very nice based on its price

I bought this laptop for my home use. It is very nice based on its price. It has a pre-insatlled Windows 7, which is the best operating system for PC from my point of view. The laptop runs very smoothly with Win7. I use this laptop for internet exploring, document processing, watching movie as well as managing my photos. The intel Dual Core i3 CPU and 4GB memory is powerful. Its media card reader makes it very easy to transfer my photos from camera card to computer. I even can burn my own photo DVD with DVD burner! I like this laptop very much! By the way, I don't understand why some review complains about DELL quality. Inspiron is a classic series from DELL. I have owned this laptop for almost six months, never got any problem.

I like this laptop

I like this laptop. Firstly, the price is a good deal for a daily use computer. 15 inch is the perfect size for me, neither too big nor too heavy. i3-5005U Processor is fast enough for my daily entertainment and surfing online. DVD Burner is another advantage I like. The battery for this laptop is very good, which can last longer than any other laptops I previous bought.

Cursor Freezes

I bought this to replace my 2006 Dell Inspiron that is still working and using XP but which has gotten really slow to load. I couldn't be more disappointed in this new one. I bought it with System 7 and 6mb memory. It takes a while to load, but the thing that drives me crazy is the cursor freezes unexpectedly and at random. No option but to press the button to shutdown.

Poor build quality, avoid this if possible...

This Inspiron 5000 series is a cheap laptop, not worth the $500+ price tag. I got one last year for my 12 year old and within 6 months the wireless stopped working and the case itself was ripped at bottom, inspite of low usage at home. It was never taken out and gently used. Turns out the whole keyboard has to be replaced and a custom repair job was needed when I took it to a local tech service. Its basically a lump of cheap plastic it seems. Overall disappointing build quality, questionable performance.
Will not make the mistake of buying Dell again... the latitude series might be worth a look if its a corporate laptop or a HP Envy series perhaps for home use. But essentially the cheap Dell laptops are.. Cheap and better avoided it appears.
