One of the best computers I've ever owned.

I had this laptop for nearly 2 years. I'm still attempting to make it work again. During the time that I had it, this laptop was awesome! I used it a lot. I almost used it every day. Its performance wasn't the best, I frequently got annoyed with it because of the speed. Ever since I got it, I nearly promised to upgrade the RAM to 4 GB, but I never did. One day, I had bought a 2 liter bottle of soda, and I had nearly run out. So I had my laptop in my bag with the soda. The soda leaked and got into the laptop, and the laptop failed to start after that. This happened late last month. Possibly even in early November. I recently got a Dell Latitude D620 running Windows XP Pro, which is a huge change from Windows 8. I no longer carry any liquids in the same bag as my laptop. I won't be making the same mistake twice. But just for the record, the demise of that laptop was my fault.

I miss my old Inspiron, and I'm hoping that it'll start up again. It probably won't, but I'd love for that to happen.

I've owned quite a few computers, and this Inspiron was one of the best. If anybody is considering this laptop, it makes a great cheap laptop. However, don't buy it from someone who sells it for $350. Give it time and you can find one for $229 or $239.

I've always been pleased with Dell's computers. The Inspiron i15-909bk was one of my most frequently used, favorite laptops that I'll keep trying to start, even though the effort is hopeless.

Here are 10 things you should know:

I. This laptop runs Windows 8. You've been warned. I've had trouble with the OS. I was unable to click on my tiles, some of my programs wouldn't run. (very small amount.) Updates wouldn't work. Eventually I created a new user account and it fixed all of the problems except the updates.Read more ›

The gift that gave one kid a very disappointing Christmas!

Purchased two of these computers as gifts for our kids at Christmas. One came with a dead and corrupt hard drive which left no gift for one child. Still waiting for return labels from the seller to return the computer and get a refund. A very disappointing Experience. Hoping the return and refund process works better than the purchase. Will buy the replacement at a local retailer. Hoping to receive the promised return labels by email today.
