nice laptop. I just got it recently so I am still checking it all out. This is my 2nd Dell Inspiron. I got it mostly for use with school work. The sound is just ok coming out of the speakers, but I use headphones anyway usually. It seems like the bluetooth signal isn't that strong so music tends to cut out here and there just in my tiny apartment. The quality of video is acceptable when watching netflix , but this is no gaming laptop so if you're looking for high quality graphics this isn't for you.I love the huge hard drive space and the 8 gb of memory is that is upgradable.

Wifi capabilities lacking.......

I bought this computer to use for school because of the hard drive space and the i5 processor. The computer works great so far. It is a little slower than I expected it to be especially when streaming videos. The reason I am giving it 3 stars is because the wifi receiving capabilities on this computer are lacking at best. If I take it more than 20 feet from the router, or if it looses line of site with the router or modem it looses all signal. There are four levels in my house, and I have two other laptops and a couple of tablets and all of them work no matter where you are in the house whether you are shut in a bedroom or door open.

The Dell Premium Tech Support is heads and shoulders above the rest. I have two Dells now, the newest being a laptop and the other an all in one PC. I could not believe how far tech support has gone for me - even calling me back to see if everything worked out for me. Now just make sure that you have the full first year Premium Tech Support - I found out that mine came with only 90 days and it took some talking and they agreed to a full year. Then when I found out how good the tech support was I purchased an additional 3 years. Now personally I do not care for Windows 8 nor will I have anything to do with McAfee. My Dell Tech support ran Super Anti Spyware Free edition of course and Hit Man Pro again free version when I was hit hard with viruses or what ever. Now I run at lease one of these daily and haven't had any problems since.

It's good I've only had it 4 days & haven't put windows 10 on it yet. And it is the signature edition so it pretty bare. The WiFi is good as far as I tested. I've got good connections thru out my house so I guess it depends on your networks. The only real gripe would have to be the keyboard which is kinda weird. It's just iffy like it's really cheap. The adjustable back light is nice though. The laptop has a nice finish...has a nice look & feel to it. I'm just an average user so just web stuff, email, social networks, music, videos, light photo editing & a game or two.

Do not buy!!! I'm going through my second hard drive now. At least the first one was honored by the dell warranty.

I only use it for work documents and its still crashing. I find myself using my 6 year old computer instead because it won't connect to the Internet unless you are sitting next to the router.

Overall, a terrible buy. Don't buy it even though the specks look appealing. You might as well get a 10 year old laptop if you're looking for comparable performance.

Great laptops for my needs (Maybe not yours)

This seems like a great product. I ordered it though I have not had any problems with it.The one thing that bugs me is that it is Dell. Dell is not such a great product for internet speed. It meets my needs though. It is a bit slow when opening web pages. (If you are a gamer, this is probably not the right laptop for you).
