Not Dell but Good Deal

Replacement laptop batteries can be an iffy proposition. Genuine OEM parts are expensive and, even with the real thing, can be a disappointment. Going for the cheapest option can deliver a piece of junk that won't hold a charge and starts a fire in an overhead compartment. This battery struck me as a good compromise. It is not real Dell, but something very close. After two years, my original battery had gone from a solid 7-8 hours of use down to 6 or fewer, and I was starting to get warning messages about diminished capacity--and we are not talking about mental state, here. Out of the box, this replacement battery was no better than my weakened original, but I decided to stick it out. After a week or two of full charges and deep discharges--down to the "Low Battery" warning--it started performing better. Now, with normal writing and WiFi surfing, I get anywhere from 7-9 hours on a full charge.

This battery was a real dud.

This battery was "supposed" to be new, but clearly it was not new.
It would not hold a charge and didn't last more than about an hour to
90 minutes max usually. It was a REAL dud.
I would plug it in until it would say it was fully charged - then I would
use my laptop without it being plugged in, supposedly with a "full charge
of 100%", but then after about 1 to 1.5 hours, it would go down to
83%, and then 10 minutes later, it would SUDDENLY DROP to
7% and give me a very serious low battery warning, and then it would
just die. It did this over and over and over again.
I will never buy another laptop battery from this company. I did get
a full refund, which I was entitled to, as the battery never did hold a charge.

6 hrs???

I bought this battery because the old battery on my Dell laptop had gotten to where it would only last 45 minutes or so and be down to 10%. This extended life battery while it sticks out about an inch farther in the back of the laptop is MUCH better. When fully charged and with the screen on full brightness it gives 6 solid hours of performance. Turning down the screen and adjusting the settings for battery life it goes even longer. Highly recommended.

Battery does not power my laptop more than 2 hours

This battery is replacing my original battery which was exactly the same. My original battery would power my laptop 5 to 6 hours when it was new. I am lucky to get 2 to 3 hours use out of this battery. Don't know what changed but the new one is not as good.

I ordered a "E6420" battery for my Dell E6420. The battery I received indicated it is for the "E6420" Dell model, but was larger than the battery port would allow (i.e., wrong size). In response to initiating a return/exchange, the following is what I received from Wicoo via e-mail.

>thank you for your message, we have ordered the 9 cell battery on the web form us, so it is bigger than the normal 6 cell battery, so you may choose the wrong cell battery for your laptop.

1. They are asking I return the battery "... then we deal with the refund for you...." (Before returning the wrong battery, shouldn't the company provide me the correct battery first)?
2. Why does the company suggest I "...chose the wrong cell battery..." for my laptop, when the 'E6420' battery I ordered was supposed to fit the 'E6420' computer?
