Good choice

If you're interested in going to Windows 10, this is a fairly good choice. Intel i5 processor q adequate for most tasks, especially withb12gb RAM. For flamingos high end computing, may want to look to an i7 processor. Upgrade to Windows 10 went smoothly.

Good specs but unrefined.

Laptop has good specs for the price. However, the biggest problem with this laptop is the mouse pad. The mouse pad becomes unresponsive and the left click gets stuck. This is also accompanied with the touchscreen disabling. The edges of mouse pad are completely flat, so you will accidentally move the mouse with the heel of your palms. I have to restart the laptop in order to get the mouse operating normally. Using a usb mouse averts this problem.

The color calibration is also wrong with this laptop. The whites are very dull. The windows color calibration tool doesn't seem to help. The speakers are located at the bottom of the laptop, under the palm rests. This results in muffled sound. The speakers themselves aren't of good quality.

Beware that this laptop doesn't have an optical drive which you may need while reformatting.
