Actually got it at best buy but its the same model and has been good so far. I walked around messing with all the laptops and this had a better overall feel then some laptops that were twice the price. This is not a hardcore gamer laptop but for what I do has been great so far. I run office, surf the web and do SQL work on the laptop. I am going to install an SSD and perhaps upgrade RAM in the future. With the stock setup it should be more than enough for say a college kid or someone who wants a laptop to mess around with at home. Backlit keys was a nice bonus I did not see on some expensive models. Keyboard feels ok, trackpad is fine for me not sure about the complaints on that. Sometimes a simple tap doesn't register but I usually use a wireless mouse anyhow or touch the screen so it doesn't really slow me down.

I will update this later but I received this laptop about two hours ago and I'm already in love.

First, the screen
1080p IPS Touch Screen on a $600 laptop...woah. It gets insanely bright and using windows with touch is amazingly simple. I actually prefer it to using the touchpad.

Second, the keyboard
The keyboard took a bit to get used to. It feels like a few keys should be in different places but typing is very comfortable and natural. The keys are nicely backlit and have a good travel amount. (I'll get to the build quality of it in a sec) Also, nobody explained this to me but the FN key allows you to use the F keys. Otherwise, you will be using the command underneath them (brightness, sound, etc).

Lastly, the build quality. This was the main reason I pulled the trigger on this model. The laptop has a full aluminum construction and has NO give whatsoever. The only note I would make is that it weighs almost 5 pounds. Its pretty heavy for its size but it feels really lightweight coming from a Lenovo G780 (7 1/2 pounds). I know I'm in the honeymoon phase but I love this.

Side note, this laptop isn't really designed for anything like gaming/video editing (that's what my main rig is for). It's designed for web browsing, watching movies/videos, doing homework, etc. It's perfect for that.

This is a great laptop for the price. It was one of the few laptops that had 1920x1080 resolution and backlit keyboard in this price range. I'm not sure if I'll regret not going for the model with the dedicated graphics card and 4K resolution, however this still lets me use photoshop without an issue. Most of the time I use my custom desktop for major photo/video editing and running aircrack-ng against dictionaries. It was worth purchasing the lower end model price wise without the 12GB ram and ssd drive upgrade. I was able to purchase 16GB ram for 74.00 and installed a Samsung Evo 850 500GB SSD drive for 174.00. After those upgrades it will meet all my needs for awhile. I've also dual booted this with Kali Linux 2.0 and Windows 10. I didn't run into any driver issues thank God. This is a Ubuntu certified laptop so if you want linux on it this will work for you as well.

*****If you buy this laptop you will definitely want to put an ssd drive in it immediately.Every computer I own has one so starting this computer up was a reminder of how much of a difference they truly make******

Cons
-Trackpad is horrible with Windows 10. I'm hoping a driver update is issued eventually.
-No SSD Drive

Great laptop: has beautiful screen, backlit keyboard, and battery lasts 6+ hours. The 1TB gives me more space than I know what to do with, and 6gb of ram is plenty for anything I do.

The build quality is premium and the battery life is amazing in combination with either Windows10 or ubuntu. The ram is just 6Gigs which anyways I'm gonna upgrade. the screen resolution is brilliant. The strange and unexpected positive thing in this laptop is the keyboard. The frame surrounding the keys is well built magnesium and doesn't go inside whatever pressure you apply. The trackpad is good but the buttons are not that responsive. There's no heating issue at all. I tried this laptop for 3 days with some programming, heavy excel sheet usage, video playback. The speakers do a decent- great job. Though it is a 15.6" laptop with magensium body the weight distribution is even and it's lighter compared to other 15" models for ex Dell 5000 series.

Well made, excellent keyboard and monitor. It comes with Windows 8.1 but is eligible for a free upgrade to Windows 10. The screen is bright and responsive and I really like the aluminum case. The only real niggle I have is battery life which is average.

I bought this laptop at BestBuy. Main attraction for me was the screen, it is bright, excellent resolution, good viewing angles (IPS screen). The laptop is solid, not much flex, looks good (simple clean design). My machine came with Windows 8.1, upgrade to Windows 10 was easy and no wait. I did replace the 2GB ram with a 4GB , so I have a total of 8GB (2x 4GB SODIMM PC1600) and I replaced the rather slow drive with a Sandisk 240GB SSD.

Plus:
1) Fantastic display, Full HD, IPS screen, good viewing angles and brightness
2) Nice clean build
3) Keyboard is backlit

Cons:
1) Keyboard has no num pad, has very short key travel, you need to press FN for the function keys
2) Battery can be replaced but you need to open the cover of the machine to get access
3) No DVD player/recorder
4) Wifi seems a bit slow, I get low connection speeds with my router, I need to investigate this some more.
5) No hard drive activity light, this is really bad when you have the slower 1TB drive, you really want to know if the drive is busy or not. You can install software that shows the HD LED in the task bar.

Over-all I am very happy with the machine, upgrading the drive to a SSD makes the machine really move. It is powerful enough for office applications and photo editing, I can also play games that are not demanding a dedicated graphics card.
