Perfect Product

I love this lap desk! I was looking for one that would be generously sized so I had plenty of room for my laptop and its mouse. This desk fits the bill with no problem. I also wanted a durable, long lasting lap desk that I would not have to replace anytime soon as the lap desk I just replaced had cracks on all four sides that I had futilely tried to repair with super glue. I am very confident super glue will never be needed on this desk! Also, the shape of the desk makes it even more comfortable to use. The desk also has a detachable canvas pad filled with tiny foam beads for added comfort. The pad is the perfect size and since it's detachable, it can be tossed in the washer if you need to (I will anyway). There's also a small zipper at the top of the pad so, it's possible to add more tiny foam beads in the pad if needed. A small feature that this desk has that many did not is the cut-out handle. For me, this was a must-have. Try carrying an armload(s) of stuff and the lap desk too. With the cut-out handle, I can easily dangle it from a finger while carrying the rest of my load, so handy! My order arrived on time, in perfect condition and was exactly as I expected it to be actually, it was even better than I expected. In my opinion it is a great product and worth every penny. I would purchase one again without hesitation and would recommend it to anyone looking to buy a new lap desk

Perfect laptop desk

I've been looking for a laptop desk for a long time. I've been using my painting canvas boards for a couple of years now. Only problem is that they're flat so they are always riding on my knees, which is very annoying. This desk is perfect for my usage. It sits comfortably on my thighs and does not bother my knees at all. The only minor complaint that I have is that the little styrofoam balls will leak if you aren't careful when opening the zipper. There is a small piece of fabric sewn inside the opening which prevents most of them from coming out. The notebook featured is my Asus G73JW 17".

After searching and reading several reviews, I finally settled on this lap desk and I love it. It fits nicely on my lap and looks aesthetically great. It fits a 15" laptop and smart phone side by side with room to spare. The customer support from TJBrands is phenomenal. I bought two of these desks, one for my father-in-law and one for my husband. I would buy this again, and plan to get another one for myself.

Beautiful, functional, and easier on the environment.

This laptop lap desk is pretty awesome. It's a sleek and elegant option for a lap desk. The bamboo is a beautiful color and the construction is pretty sturdy. I've looked at the pouch/ lap rest and I don't see any issues with it's construction. The pouch/ lap rest looks to be kind of empty, but in fact it is filled with just enough stuff when you actually use it. Mine is in use by a Lenovo W540 (on the large end of work notebooks) and a mouse. This is perfect because I plan on buying some more bamboo furniture ("classic lines shelving" bamboo pieces from a certain store for containers) and this lap desk will compliment them.

Eco not

I loved it at first, but it cracked where the manufacturer had stapled the cushion into the bamboo. It added stress fractures into the wood, and after a few days of use it split horizontally. I went to package it up for the return and saw that the break was caused by the staples. I also didn't like the microbeads in the pad. It seemed eco, but felt like styrofoam in the nice cotton cover. Took away from the quality. Would like it filled with a natural material, or maybe foam. Those styrofoam beads are cheap and bad for the environment. I'm sad I had to return it, because now the styrofoam beads just go back in the waste stream. It could be so much better. I'd purchase a replacement if it didn't have the beads in the pad.

Great Lap Desk!

Very well constructed, the top has a dual layer of bamboo to prevent warping and it has a nice finish. It sits very comfortably on my lap and the cushion is made with a high quality material. It's very stable and is a good size. I will certainly use it for my laptop and for other things (eating and writing). I have had other lap desks in the past but they were very small and didn't feel nearly as comfortable on my lap. I highly recommend for anyone that needs a lap desk. Note: The actual color is lighter than in the picture (more of a honey color)

Nothing Fancy- Just What Was Needed

My hobby/supplemental income is restoring antiques, especially antique carvings, reliefs, or ship's decorations. I could have constructed a fine lap desk, but who would pay? I respect the use of bamboo for its strength, renewable character, and other unique qualities. This lap desk met my size specifications, was reviewed well and had a pad which seemed far better than some I looked at. The price is reasonable- far less expansive than I would build it for. The laminated wood is just that. One review stated that the wood had a pressboard core. That is untrue. This lap "desk" is solid strips of laminated bamboo, well fit, and smooth with no imperfections. No complaint about the finish or color. They are what they are. My desk has no areas that would even suggest a tendency to delaminate. The velcro fastening strips on the back are stapled. I detest staples just because they are the main fasteners for modern furniture, cost efficient and liable to fail- but acceptable as fasteners for a strip of velcro. Yes, I did outline the strips with pencil, removed the staples, and fastened the strips with environmentally unsafe contact cement- my preference and totally unnecessary, The pad is not washable, but is well made and probably will never need to be washed. The pad is also light weight, conforms well to my bony legs, and supports/stabilizes the writing surface so that there is no wobble, even when the large lap top sits on it. There is no cup holder, paper gripping corner strap, or light fixture. I did not need them. That is fine. Those options I could add later if needed. In all, this lap "desk" is just what I wanted at a reasonable price. Very well constructed, well finished, and utilitarian.
