Just received this item after a rather prolonged wait time. It literally smells like **it. The smell is not at all like leather and the buckles are pretty much the cheapest quality possible. It would be acceptable if the item cost $20 and you didn't mind smelling like **it wherever you went. Otherwise do not purchase. Sometimes the truth ain't pretty.

Smells like a horse. I believe it is horsehide. It does the job, but the hardware will rust and the leather will weather quickly. Not that expensive, now I know why.
