Cons:
At full force, this can barely move a single sheet of Kleenex tissue.
At the lowest setting, the tissue barely moves and you can barely feel the air move.

Pros:
- Adjustable fan speed.
- Powered by your laptop via supplied USB to USB cable.
- Adjustable tilt levels.
- Very sturdy.
- Appears to be good quality, at least visually.
- It's quiet, especially when you have your laptop on it, most of the noise blocked and directed away from you.
- Even with such little force coming from the fans, the center of the four fans is noticeably cooler! ( I would not have expected that.) My laptop can get fairly hot at times, especially near the back, and this cooling pad did a remarkable job I have to admit. Much better than I was expecting.
- the design allows this to will work on top of blankets/etc. and doesn't require a hard surface.

Other info:
The front lip of the pad raises your laptop at least an inch. This causes my wrists to rest against the sharper front edge of the laptop and makes typing fairly uncomfortable. This is the main reason for my giving this only 4 stars. I am using this lying down on a bed propped up on my elbows, typing. If I was using this at a desk, with a higher chair, it might be fine as is.

Final thoughts:
I like the overall design, mostly. Only significant improvement I can think of is to make the front edge more of a point, as to not raise the front of the laptop as much.
If the fans ever die on me, I am going to try to put some ultra quiet motherboard/chipset fans in here, wire that up, and see how that works. Even without the fans, this may be worth $27. Some quality 125mm fans cost about $7 per. You can get 70mm fans probably for $6-8 each. There are cheaper ones for sure, but I'd prefer to spend a little more for quieter ones with better bearings.
Yes, I would recommend to a friend overall.

My laptop was running hot, and I was concerned about it. It even shut down several times recently due to overheating. I did quite a lot of searching on the topic, and saw this laptop cooler in a YouTube demo review. Read the reviews here on Amazon and decided it was the right thing for me to try. It has solved the problem completely. I had previously kept my laptop on a cooling pad, but it did not have any fans in it, and I had also sometimes blocked the airflow on one side with papers, etc. Now my laptop stays cool even after hours and hours of heavy use and tasks that use a lot of energy which would have caused it to overheat before. I can feel the underside of it, as well as the top all over the keyboard, and it is not even warm, but just room temperature. The only heat is mildly warm air coming from the vent next to the hard drive. The blue lights are rather nice, and can't really be seen too much if your laptop takes up the width of the cooler and you have it toward the front. I like being able to plug it in and forget about it, so it just goes on when the computer starts up, and it has an extra port, so no loss of one for other things. Compared to the cost of repairs, or the hassle of sending my computer off to the manufacturer to investigate the overheating problem, this was well worth my money!!! I will never be without it again.

Starting with the box, it came well packaged and presented with a usb to usb cable. The pad is high quality, it has a metal mesh on the top which is clever because the fans make lots of cold air so the metal also gets cold and that cools every inch of your laptop. The Fans are gigantic, but extremely quit, the blue led is also a nice touch. Its really easy to setup, just plug in the usb cable in the laptop and flick the black switch and they power on and push cold air to your laptop, the pad has 2 usb ports so you can plug other accessories. The hole thing is really light so its ideal for usage on your lap and also is great for summer if your really hot. There is a massive difference with the fans, my laptop gets extremely hot and these fans managed to keep it cold and i mean cold, the bottom was cool and not hot and discomforting to the touch, it does its job well. Overall i really recommend this to anyone with a laptop, it expands the time that you can have your laptop on your lap.

First Class Laptop / Netbook USB Cooling Pad

(This product was sent to me by the manufacturer / distributor for an honest and unbiased review).

When I use my laptop or macbook either at home or at work I frequently have to stop in order to allow for them to cool down as they don't have cooling mechanisms that are as good as that of a desktop computer. Sadly overheating often causes irreversible damage inside devices and shortens lifespans. This is where this product comes in though.

It's a clever and particularly useful accessory that's designed to draw in air into its fans and direct it towards the underside of your device, the location whereby most of the overheating occurs. The fans get powered via the USB port of your device.

Upon removal from the box it doesn't take long to conclude that its a well made product with an excellent and appropriate design. It's compatible with any device up to 15" and the unit itself is approximately the same size as a 14-15" laptop or netbook in length, width and depth. The entire unit is black with a metal meshed grill on top and a plastic underside and in terms of mass it's very lightweight.

From a design perspective it looks the business and looks higher valued than the price tag suggests. It's certainly modern, stylish and would look good with either a black or silver device on top.

The suitably sized twin USB cable fits neatly underneath the unit when not in use and this comes out to attach to your USB port effortlessly.Read more ›
