Surprisingly heavy...

Got this yesterday and played with it a little but haven't used it very extensively yet.

First impressions:

1. it's surprisingly heavy - the listed weight of 1.49kg seemed unremarkable, until I realized that 1.49kg = *over* 3lbs (so, it's nearly as heavy as my MacBook!). not a deal-breaker, but I definitely won't be taking this when I travel.

2. the 'kick-stand' for the laptop riser section doesn't snap into place, it simply rests in place; the rounded end sits in a small divot in the main platform...so, if you bump the laptop riser section and push it upward at all, the kick-stand loses its footing and the riser collapses down to a flat surface again.

3. once you lift the laptop riser section into place, the center table hinge locks - theoretically, if you have the riser section lifted, you should be able to lift the entire table with one hand and it won't fold in half. *HOWEVER*, it's just better to use two hands: the table itself is over 3lbs plus the weight of your laptop adds up to be a pretty heavy thing to move with only one hand.

4. the legs seem awfully rickety; they lock into place securely but the legs themselves are made of thin/lightweight plastic. I'm more worried about the legs snapping in half because I moved the item to the side without lifting it clear of all of the blankets, etc. in bed vs. the legs not supporting the weight of the laptop.

5. the extensions on the legs are also suspect because the legs seem flimsy to begin with, and extending them to be longer seems like spitting in the wind.

Hopefully, my initial impressions are wrong and this will become a trusty, super-helpful accessory.

I'll update my review after I've had some time to use it.

Like it but the next version has to be better

This review is aimed to the creators of this product.

They describe that a 17" laptop can be used, and yes, but not in the angled position, and my computer, a Dell Studio 1749, takes a lot of space so it's hart to use a mouse or put a glass in the side.

Dell laptops have an angled front, so the part of this table supposed to keep the laptop over the table in the angled position can't hold it, so next time make this bigger, or create alternate ways to hold the machine.

The best thing is the couple of USB powered fans under the computer, this is where it gets the stars, cause it helps to keep the computer working cold.

Other thing to make better is that there is no way to keep the table open if you only hold it for one side. The hinge just let the table start closing. You need to hold it for both sides to move from one spot to other. Next time, make something like you did with the legs.

Good idea, poor execution

This laptop desk has some potentially good features, but some of the parts just don't perform properly. For example, it has adjustable legs, which would be great, but the locks on the legs keep popping open. That allows the legs to fold in and collapse - not a great thing when you have a laptop sitting on it. It has a tilt up platform, but I don't see any need to tip up a laptop. Perhaps if you had a kindle or tablet, that feature might be more useful. The desk can fold up for travel, but when it is opened and being used, the fold-up center doesn't lock open, so the desk tends to start folding while you are using it. If these defects were corrected, it would be a great little lapdesk.

UPDATE: After using this desk for 9 months, three of the four leg-locks no longer lock the legs -- the legs start to collapse when you set the desk on a table. My laptop starts to slip off while I try to re-position the legs that are collapsing. I am looking for a different desk to replace this one.

Laptop slides off when angle adj is used

I own a Dell laptop where the front is slanted so the table angle portion does not hold the laptop in place, even in the lowest position. The lip that should hold it in place is not tall enough.E-Stand LD09 B Black Laptop Table

Great Laptop Stand!

I love this laptop table. I had been looking for one for a long time and finally decided to go with this one. The legs are adjustable for height and the fans work well to keep my laptop cool. The table itself adjusts so you can tilt your laptop up if needed. There is a place to put your drink. The mouse area works well and you don't need a mouse pad. My husband loved it so much he took the black one from me and we ordered another one in pink for myself. I would definitely recommend this to others.

Portable laptop desk

I like the product and have been using last few weeks and am very happy. The only issue that I am not highly impressed is the extension legs, they are not strong enough and I would dare not to use them.

Things I like:
1. Light weight
2. silent fans
3. comfort of working on the desk.

Not comfortable:
1. Extension legs are feeble.
2. hinge locks for legs, they often slip and I use a paper padding for two of four legs.
