Stylish and protects my macbook from scratches. I'm very satisfied. However, it lost one star because there are no room for accessories and charger. My macbook has case on it, and it still fits perfectly! Just take note that this case will not protect your laptop from any impact, so if you are looking for something with full protection, cross this one on your list. Overall, I'll recommend it.

Nice, stiff case closely mimics real leather in look and color

Sometimes I need a soft, expandable case, but other times--when I have business to conduct and am out and about in a suit--a stiff leather-look case is much more suitable and classy looking. It has got to really look like leather, though! This one does, in both the graining and the rich color.

This case, even though it is not leather, looks as though it is, and gives off an aura of sophistication. You know what they say about first impressions? This case will help you with that!

Beware that it is a very stiff case, though: It will not fit your power adapter, too, just the laptop. This case will not expand or stretch to accommodate anything thicker than one inch. You can slide in your USB cables, though. Size should be no more than 13 1/2" x 10 1/4". If the laptop is thick (like more than one inch) then size should not be more than 13" - 13 1/4" x 10".

(Make sure you highlight the correct box on this product page, because this product page offers both the 11-11.6" and the 13-13.3".)

For those who do not know what PU leather is: It does contain some thin real leather in its layering, right next to the soft backing, but it is kind of like "reconstituted" leather. What you see as the top layer is polyurethane. It is the polyurethane that is embossed and colored to look like leather. (See, you learned something today!) It does not wear like real leather, but when you take a look at the price, you should not expect it to.

This case works very well for paperwork, also. It will not fit legal-size pads or paper, though. Just a bit short.

Beautiful, Professional, and Well Made

This case is beautiful! It arrived quickly and is packaged within a matte finish zip closure encasement bearing the Plemo logo. I appreciate the packaging as it sets the tone for the type of quality to expect in the product. I was not misguided. This case is well made with impeccably straight stitching and slightly structured PU leather that holds its rigidity. The PU leather has a nice feel to it...smooth but slightly textured which offers a good grip when picking it up. It bears the Plemo name on the front lower section of the flap, and contains soft slightly fuzzy fabric on the inside, similar to the soft section of Velcro. Speaking of Velcro...the case closes a small round section of Velcro. Whether you like this will depend on your opinion regarding magnets and having them near your laptop. If you like the case but dislike the Velcro, it's possible to see a little round magnet on either side to close the flap and cover the Velcro.

As far as protection for your laptop goes, the structure of this case wins out. The edges of the case are very hard PU leather where the two sides on the front and back have been melded together with the PU leather in the center that allows it to expand. These edges extend below where the bottom of your computer will sit, and our past the edges of your computer on the side. This means that when you set the case down, the sides act like bumpers for your computer. For this reason alone, this case is much more protective than I expected, and it will protect the corners and edges of your computer better than a regular sleeve or other case where the sides are flush with the edges.Read more ›

Elegant laptop protection

I am really impressed with the elegance and quality of this laptop sleeve. The design is a classic envelope, clean lines edged by strong stitching; the closure is an unobtrusive Velcro “dot”, the size of a coin, under the point of the flap. The case on arrival is quite flat but expands by about an inch to accommodate a slimline laptop. The materials are sturdy and well suited to the task: a very attractive smooth imitation leather in a beautiful light tobacco shade for the outside, and a colour-matched super-soft lining with a hint of padding for the inner sleeve. My 13-inch laptop fits snugly inside, well protected when in transit. The PU leather looks durable and it would be easy to wipe it clean with a moist cloth, once it gets a bit more use. Like other PLEMO products, it comes inside a semi-transparent plastic bag, sealed by a zipped closure, very suitable for long-term storage.

This classy case is designed to protect your notebook from bumps and scratches when carried inside a briefcase or other larger bag. You could also tuck it under your arm, like a document carrier. In fact, that would be an ideal alternative use. It's sturdy and unbending and, if you get the 13-inch size, you can easily stash an inch of A4 papers or photos inside, or even a slim binder, perhaps a tablet or a portable camera as well. Its limitations are that it doesn't have any carrying straps or handles, nor does it have any extra pockets for accessories. It's strictly a protective and stylish way to carry your laptop and very moderately priced for such quality.
