Its built-in defense system guards against lock tampering. Its tensil strength up to 186kgf. It is ideally suited for LCD and Plasma Screens, Projectors, and Notebook computers. It's simple to use and installs in seconds! Most important, it is key-free!

Setting your unique combination
1.Turn the Dials to the factory preset combination 0-0-0 or 0-0-0-0.
2.Turn the Reset Button 90 clockwise with a small flathead screwdriver or similar tool.
3.Turn the Dials to set your own desired combination.
4.Turn the Reset Button 90 counterclockwise back to its original position. All things done, your lock is ready to open at its new combination.

Locking your notebook computer
1.Loop the security cable around an non-moveable object.
2.Press and hold the Release Button,then insert the Locking Hook into the locking slot of your notebook or peripheral.
3.Release the Button and randomly rotate the Dials. Now, your notebook or peripheral is secured.

TIPS: Please keep your combination in a safe and accessible place for future reference.

Tested on my MacBook Pro. It fits into the generic port that virtually all laptops have (PCs and Apple Macs alike).

Pros:
✅ Very solid construction
✅ Easy to set combination.
✅ Soft squishy protective piece between the metal lock and laptop. (see video)
✅ Perfect length... 6 feet.
✅ Winds up compact and fits in my laptop bag.
✅ Nice folks at Etekcity. They actually sent me this to test and video review.

Cons:
🍅 Blister pack is a pain to get open. Be sure to have a beefy pair of scissors nearby.

Summary: 5/5 stars. A definite must have for those who work on their computers in coffee shops or other high traffic areas.

Great quality at a low price

I have made a couple purchases with Etekcity in the past have been pretty satisfied with their product so I was definitely looking forward to trying out out this Security Lock! I actually purchased this for my oldest daughter to take with her to keep her laptop safe! I feel safer that she has this to lock up her laptop when she is out! It's a pretty good strength for the price and it is really easy to use! The numbers do get stuck every so often but at this price you can't beat the quality! I have spent a whole lot more in department stores similar locks and the quality was not even half as good as this one! I think its a great product and I would have no problems coming back and ordering another one in the future.

Very well made and solid Security Cable, This cable fits great in my computer i also tried it with 2 other laptops with (Kensington Lock slot) and fits with both perfectly.
It has a 4-digit resettable function, reach to 10,000 combinations you easily set up your own combination.
cable is made of galvanized twisted steel with PVC coating
Very easy to install and safe to use
I take my laptop to the coffee shop and library often for studying and its nice being able to lock it to the table if i need to step away, i can feel safe that no one is going to take my device.

Fits Most Laptops

I thought this lock would be good for securing my 11-inch Dell Inspiron hybrid. Unfortunately, it didn't fit. It does fit my son's 17-inch Toshiba Satellite laptop, my husband's 15-inch Dell Inspiron, and my ASUS 10-inch Eee PC. Maybe it's just a design flaw of my Dell Inspiron hybrid.

The combination is four digits and a cinch to change. The cable is nice and strong. Just loop it around some immovable object and attach to the laptop. Even with a cable, I wouldn't be leaving my computer out in a public place for long, but maybe it would be nice for doing things like studying at the library. The cable is going to my son, who I hope will likely be doing more of that soon.

A Cable Lock, It Works

If your laptop has a Kensington security slot, this cable will work. That slot is a little rectangle, usually located near on the rear or the sides near the rear of a laptop. MacBook Pros even have a slot for this. This won't prevent somebody from stealing your computer (bolt cutters will cut the cable easily); it will keep an honest person from walking off with your laptop.

The idea behind these is to loop the cable around some solid pole - like a table leg or post. You loop the cable around the post, pass the lock through the fixed loop on the end of the cable, and then lock the cable to your computer.

It keeps people from making a mistake.

This lock is great for equipment that stay locked

This lock is great for equipment that stay locked, once you use the lock. The product is nice, you need a small screwdriver to program the code. To place it on the device is not so convenient, the dials get stuck, and you must push it in and out to get to the correct spot.
If you need to install and release it, it is not the product for you. I installed 3 of those same problem with all three.
