Good price, if it worked

I was really surprised at the low price for an extended life battery. I couldn't understand how an extended life battery could be sold for $26 when the standard life battery sold for around $90 from Dell.

I understand now. The battery case never mated right to the laptop. We could mash it in there, and it would sort of stay, but then we would get the "battery replacement" warning from the laptop.

My wife is using this laptop for school. When she lost some of her homework due to lack of a battery, I was truly in fear for my life. When she screamed "this piece of crap battery!" I knew I had only minutes to live. I immediately went to the Dell website and ordered the OEM battery. Yes, it was three times the price and only the "standard" battery, but it work. It slid in perfectly. No more battery replacement warnings. No more homework loss. No more fear for my very existence.

While this was an exciting adventure, (after all, seeing ones true mortally forms a lasting impression), it was a truly worthless battery.

Now you may think of this story as somewhat of an exaggeration, but my wife is a native Texan. All true Texans have guns. When there's an irritating varmit, out comes the shotgun... Perhaps you now understand why we were unable to return this battery for our money back.

Oh well... it could have been me. I order this crappy battery in the first place.

A Disappointing Purchase

I ordered the extended replacement laptop battery for my Dell XPS 1530 and, at first, it worked perfectly.

At home.

Two weeks later, it no longer holds a charge, a fact I discovered in the middle of the business trip I am now on. I can no longer run my laptop on battery, which in this case is nearly a show-stopper. I have contacted the vendor and asked for a refund. I will leave subsequent feedback based on the vendor's response.

So far so good..its works pretty decently. Fast shipping and received the product as described. It fit my laptop perfectly (Dell XPS M1530) Will def order from them again in the future.

UPDATE (12/13/2014)...The battery only lasted about 6 months, then wouldnt hold a charge. Contacted seller re the 2 yr warranty, they had me send it back so they could send me a replacement. They received the battery back but I have yet to receive a replacement, my money back or even a response from them after several attempts. You're better off to just spend the extra money to get the OEM battery from Dell. What a rip off this was!!! Be careful buying anything from Talented & Gifted....they are liars!!

Tried an off brand replacement battery first. It arrived with 5% battery life and after charging over night, still only had 5% battery life. This Dell replacement battery was charged according to the instruction and I haven't had any problem with it holding a charge.

Works great on Dell XPS M1530 laptop

While not exactly a "perfect factory fit" this battery works very well on my Dell M1530 XPS laptop. I followed the initial charging instructions to the letter. It worked fine and charged with the OEM charger and a cheap replacement charger I bought here on Amazon. I always run the battery down to about 10%, then recharge it fully. Now, after about a month of use, it's giving me even longer battery life than it did the first week or so. The form factor is larger than the OEM battery and elevates the back of the unit about an inch or so - which I actually prefer as it helps air circulation when the laptop starts getting warm. If it had fit just a little better (it fits fine) and wasn't made in China I would have given it 5 stars. I hate to buy Chinese goods, but when the only option is a "factory original" at an ridiculously, exponentially higher price (that is probably made in China anyway)...well, you get the idea...

Lost its ability to hold a charge after a couple weeks. I live with a computer geek so we treated it properly, so I was surprised and disappointed to have it fail so soon. Now I am back to keeping it (the laptop) plugged in all the time and saving my work a lot. It says it comes with a two year warranty but after reading some of the other reviews, I am just going to call it a loss. Hesitant to buy another one.
