It was easy to use and install, the only reason I knocked off 1 star was because it takes up 2 USB ports and the cords to connect them are very short, maybe 5 or 6 inches. But I have yet to come across a disc it won't read. Would recommend.

I got this to use with a new Dell Inspiron laptop. they arrived together. i could not get the driver needed to run this external CD drive. very disappointed. it comes with a small disc i presume contains a driver, or drivers. helpfully, the disc drive will actually allow you to access the disc. but not helpfully, the disc contains various files in what i presume to be Chinese. i have to say, i'm a little rusty on my Mandarin. i mean, we covered the basics in my four years at a mid-sized southeast Indiana high school. no, wait. that was someone else completely. I remember now-I don't read Chinese. At all. So i couldn't figure out how to run any of the files on the disc. And having exhausted my compliment of computer skills, I am sending this thing back. Cheers.

This drive was not recognized and we had to purchase another drive; we got an ASUS drive. Unless you are purchasing a Dell computer I would stay away from this product. Do not purchase this.I purchased my son a new computer for his birthday and order this also so that he could play full size DVD/CDs. The disc drive was in Japanese or Chinese. It sucked up all his data space plus wouldn't uninstall. We had to go all the way back to 'refresh' his computer to get rid of it. Its crap.
