Successful College Purchase

Windows 10 completely ruined my computer and I lost everything. I was able to reinstall Windows 7 with a flash drive Dell sent me but I needed a disc drive since my laptop doesn't have one, to reinstall drivers, etc. I went to Best Buy & spent $30 on the same thing, different brand and did what I needed to do and returned it. I then ordered this one just in case I ever would need it again. Hopefully, I won't need to use it anytime soon for something like that but good to have for movies or something. Love that it came with a little carrying case.

I tried it on my 2 netbooks on since they are USB2 only the one USB cable had to be used to power it on, Windows was quick to Recognize it + install driver, it recognized it as a Phillips player, + I was able to load new Norton software on my netbook that does not have a CD/DVD player, VERY satisfied with this low cost high quality device, 5 stars all the way, nice draw string pouch included which is nice to store the unit in,

Arrived on time and worked perfectly out of the box, Win7 Pro installed and no outside drivers needed. ONLY reason to NOT go five start is we use this on PCs and one of them does not have front USB Ports, really, really need longer cable, even when using front ports could use more cable length, min of 6-12 inch more so it can be moved around desk. I had USB cable with fitting to to drive. 3 foot Tried it and worked great both R and RW, did not plug in both cables,just long one to my Dell 755. Seller claimed short cord for"Power reasons", probably cost cutting as my 3 ft worked fine. Same issues on ext floppy drive. . But works great at 3 foot and super good alternative to buying internal drive. Great buy. and would be five if longer cables.

I purchased this burner to replace my internal dell burner which failed after 5 years of use. It worked right out of the box with no problems or issues whatsoever. USB and power cords connect directly to your computer and away you go. I used it to play CDs only so far so have not tried DVDs or any burning, however, I do not expect to have any problems with either.
