OK, so here it is: Sometimes my dog gets mad at my husband and chews through his charger cords in anger. Normally, it is his phone cord. (I can't tell you how any times we had to replace that.) On one fateful day, it was the charger cord for his computer. After a while, one charger for two computers got to be too much so we picked this one up. I was a little worried because I read that there is often problems with off-brand chargers heating to the point where they start fires. This one, however, is top notch. It works perfectly and stays cooler than the one that originally came with the computer.

Save your money and buy this one instead of the name brand charger!

This AC Adapter was shipped very fast -- I had it within 2 days which was great at the time since my old charger had taken a turn for the worse and would no longer power my laptop. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality that this charger had to offer. You can tell right away that this wasn't simply another cheaply made overseas piece of crap. The charger feels heavy because it is made of heavy plastics encasing the actual charging unit within. The cable connection into the charger from the wall is sturdy and fits very snug, particularly good for those with curious children.... or pets - who may become a little over zealous playing near or with power cords. I'm confidant no animal or child would be harmed by electric shock from a loose cord coming out of the AC Charging side of the adapter which put me at ease. The pin connection into my laptop is equally excellent quality and workmanship, fitting snug as well. Plugging it in and seeing the lights once again come to life on this old hunk of junk was lilke watching fourth of July fireworks ignite within my office space at home. Eureka! A charger which is inexpensive, high quality and actually WORKS!

Now, I've had this for a couple of months and it is still working as if I'd only had it one day. Superior charger all in all. I think the company which makes this one as well as others has done a spectacular job in doing so and plan to stick with them the next time I need a new AC Adapter. I highly recommend this brand for anyone looking to replace or just have an extra one around.

Works for Gateway NV55S15U

I purchased this for a Gateway NV55S15U and it works as expected. I receive the charger 2 weeks ago and have used if 3-4 times a week for 10-13 hours per use. My observations are listed below:

- Plug fits securely into the port on the laptop
- Charges battery completely and at same rate of the OEM cable
- Outward appearance of the adapter seems to be of the same quality as the OEM
- Charger does become warm, but not hot when charging the laptop
- Velcro attached to cord is barely long enough to wrap around the cord, making storage during travel more cumbersome

Product works for me and saved me cash over purchasing a universal charger.
