An indispensable laptop accessory for many users

The portable folding desk tray is ready to go to work right out of the box with no assembly required. Just adjust the legs and mousepad extension to the desired position, set your laptop on the tray, and you're ready to go. By the way, if you're going to travel with the desk stand, I recommend keeping the box, since putting it in the box keeps the legs from getting caught on anything.

Note that unlike some of the other PWR+ portable desks, this one does not have a built-in fan. The aluminum alloy that the laptop sits on should vent heat fairly well, but if your laptop has a serious hotspot, you might consider getting a different model, such as a Pwr+® Portable Folding Laptop Notebook Book Table Desk Tray Stand with Cooling Pad - 2x Cooler Fans - Aluminium Alloy - Adjustable-Angle Legs - Silver which has a cooling fan, but does not have a split top. I've used this desk tray, and I liked it a lot. You could also use a cooling pad placed on top of the table. (They're not expensive - I have a very nice one that cost about $15.)

The desk has a very effective system for unfolding the legs and locking them in exactly the position you want them in. To change a leg's position, you push in a button and rotate the leg. Each leg shows "compass bearings" so that you can easily match the corresponding leg's position on the other side of the desk.

I can think of at least two circumstances when the desk would be useful for me. One of these times was a few years ago when I was bedridden for five weeks after a poor outcome from spinal surgery. I would love to have had one of these desks then.Read more ›

Works great!

I needed a laptop pad to use while in bed, and I actually ordered another model first, but realized that I didn't like having all the weight on my legs or my abdomen. And because I do work from time to time while lying down, the table needs to slant. I gave this tablet pad a try and although it takes a couple minutes to adjust it and get it angled in your own custom way, once it's set, it is very stable and works great.

I love that none of the stand touches my body. You can use it sitting, standing, or lying down. It holds the laptop or ipad at an angle if you need it, and you can totally customize the height and angle.

Excellent choice! I use it every day.

Sturdy enough to be a low-cost conversion to a standing desk.

Full Disclosure: I was going to wait a little longer to write a review, but I received a request from PWR+ to review this product, with another PWR+ product as an incentive, so I am posting my experiences (after 3 months of ownership) now.

Summary Version:
Pros: Converts my desk into a standing desk
"Clicks" into consistent angles to maintain a level surface after adjusting the height.
Hinges do not loosen or slip

Cons (these are minor):
A little more awkward to adjust than I expected (there's a learning curve to it)
The complete width of the platform (plus legs) takes up a lot of room on my desk.

Rambling Version:
I bought this to raise my laptop up from sitting height on my desk to standing height. I figured with the adjustable legs, I could raise it and lower it depending if I wanted to work sitting or standing. In general, it works as a standing desk, and I am very happy about that. It doesn't wobble too much and I can collapse it back down if I need to. I also like the extra room for my mouse, and that it can be separately adjusted because my mouse will slide around on it if it is not totally level.
The part I really like about it is that the hinges "click" into place, so you are less likely to wind up with a lopsided table. It's just "click, click" on one-side means "click, click" on the other side and I'll still have a nice level surface to work with.
My one minor critique is that adjusting hinges take a little finesse. You have to press the button in the middle of each hinge to disengage the clutch to adjust the legs. Ingenious Folding Laptop Stand

I like to work standing up most of the day -- even when I'm traveling. Once your get the hang of how to extend and adjust the appendages of this stand it becomes quite a stable and sturdy platform for my notebook PC. Quality build! Doesn't seem flimsy or wobbly at all once I adjust it to precisely the right height from a desk or table top in a hotel room. What can I say? It works! Really well! I agree with another reviewer that you should probably keep the box as a convenient (and sturdy) carrier, however.

I bought the Pwr+® FlexTop Portable Folding Laptop Notebook Book Ultrabook Tablet Pad Table Desk Tray Stand - Split Surface - Adjustable- Angle Legs - Up to 15" - M [ASIN: B00EWQ34ZG] so that I would have a small table to place my 15" Alien laptop on for when I was in bed. First, let me say this product is exactly what it says it is. It's light weight, durable and adjustable and has room to place a mouse if you chose to use one or place a writing tablet when jotting down notes. I would have rated this a 5 except for a couple of minor points. First, the directions were not clearly understandable to those of us (me) who are not savvy when it comes to math and angles. After a few minutes of struggling with the angle codes, I just sat on the floor and adjusted the angles until I had the height and balance I wanted. Last, was the corners of flip used to keep your laptop from sliding off. The corners on the flip are not rounded or padded and are at a height that poked into my wrist as I typed or used the laptop mouse. I was able to correct this problem by adding just a bit of height to the table. I used a flat laptop pad and placed it underneath my laptop and then it was perfect. No more problems with the wrist! I really do like this product (now that the small issues were corrected) and use it almost every night.
