I'm revising my review. I purchased 3 of these in two years. The first two lasted a year apiece. The last one died in 6 weeks. However, the company is standing behind the third product and offered to replace it when I contacted them about the problem. That's fair. For the money, I don't expect it to last more than a year - and they replaced one that didn't meet that requirement.

To extend the life of the unit, I'm going to try electrical tape around the plug end when the unit is new. The wires at the back of the plug are delicate. Don't unplug it unless you have to - because that tiny bit of stress is enough to fracture the wires, rendering the fans inoperable. Protect the wires and the product should last longer.

Works well enough, gives my macbook pro 13 inch a bit of room underneath and cools it with the three fans. I don't use my MBP for games very often but when I do it starts to frame skip pretty bad. Using this helped to eliminate that. The blue glow is pretty neat but it would be cool if I could turn it on or off and keep the fans going regardless. It can get distracting in a dark room.

The plastic bit feels a tad unsteady and you won't be placing this on your lap, it will have to sit on a desk. For how inexpensive it is, it is worth it.

I bought this fan for my 15.6" Compaq laptop. Because of the low price, I was skeptical of the size and quality of the product, but I have to say that this fan is just what I needed. It fits my laptop great, stays in place and keeps my laptop really cool. I will say that the product is a little flimsy, and must be used on a hard flat surface, because the fans are not covered on the bottom, but for the price who can complain.

The price was great & the colored lights are so cool. It does seem a bit flimsy but it is to be used on a sturdy surface so I don't think that will be an issue.

I have an HP EliteBook 8460p laptop, and mainly my problem is overheating when playing Minecraft, it's what I usually play when I want to calm down and relax from my school work.

No matter how much I cleaned out my laptop (with wipes, and with a vacuum), I just couldn't get my laptop to stop overheating. I know this laptop is getting a little bit "older," but it's got all my school work, and most of my files and pictures. I knew if it overheated too much, something internally would fry eventually, and I'd probably cry myself to death.

I decided to try this cooling pad, since my old one (with no fans), wasn't working for me anymore. I didn't care much about the lights being on it since I've had a desktop with a clear case and lights in it before -- I liked that for about 2 weeks and decided lights weren't really all that cool on/in a computer. But really, the lights aren't that bad unless you're sitting in total darkness.

What made me look at this cooling pad, was the fact that it's USB powered, has 3 fans, and, obviously, the price. I knew I was taking a chance with a "cheap" product, but I did it anyhow, and I'm glad I did.

I can now play Minecraft for hours on end without any problems from my laptop -- which I usually don't do -- but I decided to try it out just to see what would happen. This cooling pad is definitely going to extend the life of my laptop, and it's going to allow me to do things more freely.

My only concern, is the product is a bit "flimsy," and some people might break it very easily. Since I don't move my laptop that much, it's not that big of a problem for me, but if you're an on-the-go person, it might snap. The plastic is very thin and I feel I could easily break it by waving it around.Read more ›
