I was glad that I was able to purchase this battery from Amazon. Went to the local battery store in my area and they wanted over $80 for it! My computer is an older model, but works perfectly fine. I just needed a peace of mind wtih my battery power when I have my laptop out and about.

discharges faster than I expected

Followed the directions to fully charge and discharge 3 times and it only holds a charge for a bit more than an hour while running a movie. That is longer than the old battery I replaced, but was hoping for at least enough to watch a movie. Maybe I am expecting to much? Should have purchased a 9 or 12 cell I guess.

HP wanted about 80 dollars more for this battery. If I get a year out of the battery am ahead of the game. the orginial HP battery lasted just 1 year. Listen out there, the mark up on these things is criminal. Take some time and look around. Am retired and have lots of spare time. Time will save you lots of money
