What a fantastic laptop. Comes with so many cool installed programs. Right out the gate you can record video game play and the multi gesture touch pad is sweet. It comes with an SSD partitioned hard drive and a one terabyte partitioned hard drive for storage. I wish it would have come with the Blu ray player but DVD is fine. It's just a sweet machine that is capable of multitasking and 4 USB 3.0 ports. Great for using for next gen games like Mortal Kombat X or Advanced Warfare. Great for production software like Adobe Premiere or After Effects. G-Sync is really sweet for that high detailed experienced in gaming. The speakers are awesome, this laptop doesnt sit flat on a table the rubber legs are like a quarter inch thick and allow the speakers to sound so excellent. It's just nice to have a machine that does what it's told and has plenty of multi tasking capabilities. Owning this machine, I am truly at peace in this life. Much more than happy.

HUGE machine, but very quiet, fast and powerful. I've only had it a few hours but it's a great machine. BUT - McAfee? Are you kidding me? Oh yuck. I mean, I get that companies are going to put needless bloatware on machines, but Asus should really be ashamed of themselves for using McAfee. It's a virus protection that is, itself, a virus.

Good product until they go bad... then super pricey repairs with little to no explanation

I have been an ASUS fan for many years so it was a no brainer what brand to choose when I was ready to purchase a new gaming laptop. It had been a few years since owning and enthusiastically using the G51JX so I went with the newest model upgrade G750JX which is now the G751JT equivalent. For the first year the laptop was great but I started noticing a decline in performance after this first year. Conveniently I noticed this change after owning the laptop for about 14 months so the warranty had already expired. I tried some of the more basic DIY repairs such as verifying that all drivers were up to date and flashing the bios to the latest version. I would notice an improvement but shortly after I would be back to the drops in fps and other performance issues. I have been "techy" for many years and take great care of my computers which made this issue seem to come out of nowhere. After owning ASUS products for many years I would hope that the products would still be holding the same high quality as years past but this laptop is beginning to make me think otherwise. I have also recommended ASUS to others because of their previous quality products but I'm going o cease so I'm not afraid of them having the same experience. After making an RMA with ASUS I was ready to send back the laptop for repair. The original estimate for repair was $200 which didn't seem unreasonable. I brought the laptop to be shipped and was greeted with an outrageous $130 bill just to ship it to the factory! (Ground Btw) Well, now we can chock the repair up to at least $330... Now here I am 2 weeks later with an email stating my repair cost of $410!! After calling to see if there was any detail to this mobo swap I just ended up getting the runaround from the customer support representative.Read more ›

Perfect for video editing, gaming, and designing galore.

First off, I bought this laptop from a different seller on Ebay who has better pricing and better upgrades. I received all the exact specs listed here but with the addition of 24gb of ram, MGS V Phantom Pain, and a slick mouse pad. Everything else is identical.

With that aside, I spent the better part of a year trying to decide what platform would best suit my needs as a graphic designer, photographer, videographer, and casual gamer on a budget. After many months of research I came to the conclusion that this model was the perfect fit and I have been very satisfied with it. I won't go into the redundant performance specs as plenty of other people have done that already. The only reason I took a star off is because of the very stupid layout of how all the ports are configured on the right side. It's manageable, but gets very cluttered and annoying to find space for your mouse. Other than that everything is what I hoped it would be (especially with the addition of Windows 10).

Laptop boots up in literally 2 seconds. I'm able to run GTAV perfectly with no hiccups. Adobe Suite programs load up and render graphics in milliseconds, but I cannot speak for how 4K video rendering goes in Premiere as I don't have my pre-ordered URSA mini camera yet. (One of my parameters for purchasing this laptop was how it would be able to handle 4K raw footage).

If you have the budget, this is the best you can get. My original budget was 1200 but I realized I just wouldn't get the performance I wanted out of that price range. The extra investment was well worth it.

P.S. Don't buy this laptop here. Go to Ebay :)

Great Rig

Keyboard is nice but a bit hard to see the letters when not using the back light.

I will not cover performance since it will be the same for any laptop that has the same CPU and GPU. The only difference is this machine stays much cooler then other laptops I have owned. So the performance will less likely be throttled back as a result of overheating or having a power supply not up to the task.
