Had to return this unit but very impressed with CUK customer service

I just wanted to update my review in light of the fact that Computer Upgrade King did everything they could without actually being physically present. While the laptop appeared to be in good condition, I had some blurriness issues with the display, headphones making buzzing sounds while the power cord was plugged in, and just the other day my computer got the blue screen of death twice. I have been in constant correspondence with the staff of this company and they have been very professional and courteous.

I was able to resolve the blurriness of the display by re-installing all the drivers and I still wasn't able to able to solve the audio jack issue but I think this laptop just hates certain headphones. Ultimately I decided to return this laptop because although the blue screen of death is bound to hit me sooner or later, this one came too soon so I was concerned. I figured it was best to return this laptop during the allotted time period and get another one.

I believe this would have been a good purchase if it wasn't for my unluckiness. One thing to keep in mind aside from the problems I stated is that the panel is TN rather than IPS. TN panels sacrifice color quality and contrast for latency speed. I believe TN's have a response time of 2ms while IPS have a response time of 5ms. Unless you are doing competitive gaming, the difference in time will not be noticeable and you will probable want to opt for a unit with an IPS screen for the rich visual experience.

For what it's worth, I would like to add that I personally had no problems with the track pad or audio quality. I also like the color scheme and keyboard that this unit came with.Read more ›

The first thing I have to say is that I am not a gamer. Ironically the features I was looking for kept leading me to gaming laptops. I was looking for a computer with a very fast start up time. The SSD drive accomplished that goal perfectly, I still can't believe how fast this thing boots to the start screen LOVE IT. I wanted a computer with a discreet graphics card. I noticed on my old computer {it had the intel 3000HD integrated graphics} when I would watch videos or movies on my laptop the fan would kick on high pretty much the whole time and it would get pretty warm to the touch. The fan speed on high was quite annoying while trying to watch. When I watch videos or movies on this new one I can't tell if the fan is on. The fan is very quite and I have never noticed it increase in speed like the other laptop. I wanted a backlit keyboard and this one fits the bill quite nicely with a neat red glow! I wanted a laptop with an over abundance of RAM not because I needed it but I found with my other laptops after several years I would buy the max amount of RAM at the highest speed my laptop could utilize to try and increase its performance. I am very happy with this laptops performance for what I use it for. I do notice the black finish does show finger prints and dust much more than my other laptop. Thanks to the other reviewers I was well aware of this trait before buying.

fast and efficient. Using this for adobe premiere and it has been working great. The SSD makes for extremely fast reboots and the 2 tb hdd has enough room for all my projects. I only wish it had a bluray burner installed.

I've been using the computer for over a month now. Primarily for video editing and some gaming. It runs very smoothly and fast. I like the sharp screen, it does not creates too much reflection that allows me to work comfortably in a well lit room.
Few minor complains I have (I think someone noted that before):
1. track pad - it feels like it wiggles too much when you touch it. But if you don't use it then it should not be an issue at all.
2. the top of the lid is a finger prints magnet.
Overall - I would recommend this laptop.
