Product Description

This is our Grifiti Fat Palm Pads! These are 1/4 inch thick instead of 1/8 like our Slim Palm Pads. These are meant for users that need a bit more cushion and don't close their Macbook or laptop too often. You need to remove these to do so, which is easy to do! They are only slightly tacky so leave no residue. We optimized for comfort and portability. You see, we tried a bunch of the super thin leather and clothe MacBook wrist rests that all cost a darn ton but we came away feeling like we just had no support for the money. The nice thing about them was that they allow you to close the computer while leaving the cover in place. We also tried the super fat gel laptop wrist rests out there from a couple of good vendors. They offer a ton of cushion, which some people like, but these where just a little too tall for us and a bit too bulky to pack away easily on the road so we work on a happy medium... Fat Palm Pads have a satin smooth silicone surface for resting your hands. Great new addition to the Grifiti Palm Pad, Slim Wrist Pad 5,12,17 and Fat Wrist Pad 8,12,14,and 17 lineup! Try these with a Deck 13, 15, or 17 lap desk as well!

As an owner of the original palm pads, when I first saw these I assumed they would be similar, but just 'puffier.' I had the impression they would be like little pillows, and expected the same soft fabric top and slick grip bottom. Actually, these are rubbery. The top is about as thick as the original pads, but the bottom-side — twice-as-thick — is segmented and die-cut. They look similar to the packing for Dentyne Ice, if made of rubber, and with nine 'pieces' of gum.

That being said, they work great. I used to position the original pads with about a quarter-inch overhang to keep my wrists from scraping my MacBook. They were comfortable, but these are more comfortable. And, I don't have to overhang. I can place them just as shown in the photos, and my wrists are protected from that sinister aluminum blade, lol.

My only wish is that they had the same 'stickiness' as the originals. They are a drier rubber, and while they don't move when your wrists are on them, they do shift easily when nudged. I find myself repositioning them every so often.

As a graphic designer who spends hours on his laptop, I'm a fan of Grifiti and their products. I ordered these along with their Fat Wrist Pad 8, and the combination makes for a much more comfortable MacBook experience.

Overall, highly recommend for greater comfort with your Macbook. And, though it may not work with smaller 'books, I am able to close and sleep my 17" MBP without removing the pads. I wouldn't for travel, but perfect for when I'm stepping away for awhile.

What the picture doesn't show is how thick these things are... it does include the thickness in the product desription, but not that they have 9 raised squares on the backside.... I guess for flexibility, however, the're just a nuisance!

I threw these in the trash... cut up an old mousepad and used that for a pad and as a barrier that protects the base of my hands and wrists from the sharp edge of the MacBook Air.

I originally bought the Grifiti Fat Wrist Pad for my Logitech G710+ Mechanical Gaming Keyboard but the lack of an angle and it being as wide as it was killed my wrist more than the built in plastic rest on the board. I stumbled upon this little beauty, some double sided adhesive tape and it now sits right over the built in wrist rest, giving my wrist all the support it needs with the built in angle! The product is well made and hasn't caused my wrist to sweat or heat up like some pads. There was some damage to the pad on the edge, I assume it's from being removed from a mold. Overall It's a wonderful product and as I found out, not just for laptops!

I'm a writer, so I do a LOT of typing! In fact, I have developed a sore on my left wrist, where the base of my palm rests against my laptop. I ordered these, hoping they would alleviate the problem. Unfortunately, they didn't.

They are very thick, which I liked, because it raised my wrists into a more natural position, easing some of my wrist discomfort. But, they aren't soft! They aren't made of foam, nor are they gel-filled---they aren't padded in any way. They feel sort of like a hard rubber, almost like what tires are made out of. Not exactly comfortable! I used them for a day, hoping to give the sore on my wrist a chance to heal, but it was just as inflamed at the end of the day.

Also, they don't stay put very well. Every time my hands shift as I'm typing, the pads move around. It could just be that the surface of my laptop isn't compatible with these pads, but whatever the reason, they don't work.

Two stars. Not recommended---unless you just want a way of raising your wrists to a higher level while typing on a laptop.

I didn't like this product because the pads move too much. Hard to type when they're moving around. I solved that problem by using some double-sided tape. They now fit comfortably to my Macbook Pro 13" and I have them a little over the edge to avoid the sharp corners. The padding is nice. I love the silky feel of the pad. The thickness is just right for me.

And, with the double-sided tape, I can remove them easily to close the laptop and then reapply. I'm surprised they did not employ something like this. But a cheap solution (rather FREE since I had the tape already) that prevented me from returning the item and looking for something else to deal with the sharp edges of Macbook Pro. Feels nice.

3 stars for the product b/c it moves too much without some adhesive stick it to the laptop. 1 star for customer ingenuity that made the product better.

The package the GRIFITI Fat Palm Pads came said to remove the backing before applying them to my lap top. I assumed when I ordered them they would have adhesive backing or peel and stick backing to hold them in place. I am a newspaper columnist and had been using palm pads from Staples but they don't seem to stock them now. Long story short, I've wasted my money on these palm pads. They don't stay in place and every time I raise my hands from the keyboard they fall off and I have to reposition them. I'm giving the product 1 star because they were delivered in a timely fashion. Not much good for anything else.
And so it goes . . .
