Hi everyone. This was one of my first purchases as a user of Amazon. Many of the reviews, customers don't explain what was so good about it, or what was so bad about it. So I hope my review can help!

My laptop is about 5-6 years old, Gateway. It already had a replacement battery I bought from eBay which lasted a long time. But it came up to the point where the display would say it was at 100% charge and when I would unplug it, the battery would drain very quickly (keep in mind I have a 70%+ brightness) and within 15 minutes it would turn off.

So I searched up another replacement battery on Amazon and stumbled upon this battery. I was skeptical because the reviews didn't suffice my curiosity. I went on and purchased anyways. It arrived within a week and a half. I was so excited I changed the old battery with the new arrival. I let it charge first before using it. Once I unplugged my laptop, the battery lasted for a good few hours (again keep in mind I have MAX brightness and whatnot).

[Please don't over charge and only charge your laptop when your laptop alerts you it's dying].

I am very happy and satisfied with this! I hope this review helps! I know the product has very few reviews but here goes another! I gave this 4 Stars only because my laptop is quite ancient, so how long the battery lasts may vary because of the laptop. Mine lasted about 4-5 hours without charge on MAX brightness. It would be lovely if it lasted 7 hours or more BUT! Beggars can't be choosers.

01/24/2013 I just got this yesterday and it is holding a good charge so far but I'll revise this review if anything goes wrong. It came 75% charged and my laptop battery meter said it had 1.5 hours. However, a few minutes later it had over 2 hours. After giving it a full charge it went up to almost 4 hours. My L/T is 5 years old and the battery didn't get much more then. Newer computers have longer lifers but that's because the technology has improved. Laptop battery life is changeable depending on how you use your 'puter. Playing a DVD uses more juice than checking email so it will vary. Click your Start button, click Help and Support (I'm using Vista) and search on battery then read up on battery usage/life, especially the one about Windows Mobility Center (any device, including a laptop, that is running on battery is considered "mobile"). You'll learn a lot about what to expect from your battery including how to maximize it's life. Considering the battery store wants $90 for one, this one does just fine (plus I have my old battery that gets 30-60 minutes to use as an emergency back up). If it lasts a year or two I'll just get another but if it starts to fail sooner I'll let you know. I'm giving it 30 days and I'll send it back if it fails.

Not new batteries as advertised

These are not new batteries. Lasted a few months, giving about 2 hours of use. The last few months it slowly declined to zero. My stock battery lasted YEARS and started at a minimum of 3 hours of use. I contacted customer support since it is under warranty. They asked for $10 for shipping. What a scam. Why would I pay for shipping when you sent me an inferior product for one, and why would I invest in yet another used battery. Pass. The positive reviews are from people who just got what seems to be a working battery. Give it time.

When I first got the battery I followed instructions on draining and charging it for two cycles, with each cycle it has stayed on a little longer. I think I have done 4 of these cycles and the battery now lasts about an 1 1/2 hours with the laptop in balanced mode. The one thing I noticed is that the battery will indicate that it still has about 20 minutes of estimated power and then the laptop shuts off with no low-power warning. The factory battery never had that issue. Keeping it because I do not use the laptop in battery mode for extended periods.

This was a replacement battery for my laptop. I was hoping to be able to leave my computer unplugged for a couple of hours. This battery has a very short life. Within 30-45 minutes after charging, it dies.
