Great for non-critical applications

What you get is the luck of the draw, but mine have been Toshiba drives and work fine. The price is right. There are only a half dozen or fewer manufactures of old-school mechanical hard drives and none of them are awful. So it's more an issue of getting a drive that hasn't been abused.

These are a great deal for non-critical applications. I use them to set up new PCs and laptops. I install the OS, all the apps, updates, configure everything, etc, then clean up the drive, defrag it, image it, and transfer the image to an SSD prior to activation (if it's Windows). That saves a lot of wear and fragmentation of the SSD and speeds up the final system performance. These drives would also be a good choice for a secondary laptop you didn't use very often or perhaps for an alternate OS as a secondary boot drive.

I'm not sure I'd use one of these as my long-term primary drive where, if it fails, I'd lose important data. But they're otherwise a bargain.

I found the web site that said was told how to install.
So I bought the Mounting kit for my PS3, and the 160 GB hard drive for an internal laptop.
I chose 5 star because it was easy to install and it works very well.
I have 0 reason not to buy it and it was cheaper than buying a bigger PS3.
I highly recommend buying a PS3 with out a hard drive and doing again
