Does the job - just make sure it works with your replicator.

It took a few hours of research to estimate if this was compatible with my port replicator since dell doesn't go to great lengths to detail how their accessories fit together. This is listed as being compatible with certain laptops, but since it's actually the port replicator that's supposed to be attached to the stand you have to make a leap of faith that Dell's laptops always pass down the chain of compatibility through their replicators. I've never seen anything specifically guaranteeing this so I made the purchase hoping I'd be on the good side of a crapshoot. My replicator is for a precision M6600 (E/Port Plus 210W Port Replicator for Dell Precision M6400/ M6500 Mobile WorkStations - Dell part #430-3312) and this stand ended up being compatible with it. Note also that this stand is listed twice on Amazon (as of November 2012). This one and then another one where it costs over twice as much (at close to the same asking price as on the Dell site). Both are manufacture part #W009C / Dell part # 330-0878, just coming from different (non-amazon) vendors. The descriptions don't match completely so this just adds to the confusion but you can assume these are the same products and save enough on this one to at least fill a gas tank...

The stand itself is fine. It's a good space saver and brings the laptop display up to eye level, with a good range of adjustment. I was concerned that the enormous footprint of the replicator and precision workstation was going to be too much for it, but it's holding up well enough (in terms of it not feeling like it may fall over). I like the fact that the replicator is securely snapped into the tray and the replicator locks down the workstation so it's all one component and there's no risk of the laptop sliding off.Read more ›

This product is designed to work with the port replicato:

The port replicator and the laptop fit perfectly on it. The arm on the this product has the perfect tension and it is lockable. The laptop platform is also able to tilt and it is lockable. The platform expands to accept larger (deeper) laptops as well.

very cheaply made - but it's the only option

I had the Dell D-view stand and it was sturdy and always connected well. This one feels cheap and often does not connect everything. I have to un-dock and re-dock to get all the functionality. But it's the same one we have a work directly from Dell.

My Dell Latitude E6400 fits perfectly
