I purchased two Genuine Toshiba PA3817U-1BRS Battery, 48Wh 6 Cell Li-ion Original Battery from 2 different vendors "SunTek" and "Hardware Center" in AMAZON.
However, I returned those the next day because they did not work at all.
I guess those was not genuine products.

Thus, I purchased a high capacity battery "Toshiba PA3819U-1BRS Primary High Capacity 12-Cell Li-Ion Laptop Battery" from "Amazon.com LLC" for my last trial before I purchase it in TOSHIBA web site.
The price was a little lower than that in TOSHIBA web site.
It works perfectly.

Please be careful of some not genuine Toshiba Laptop Battery from some vendors in AMAZON.

This item first of all is JUST AS DESCRIBED by the seller! I have purchased a laptop battery two other times from OTHER sellers and BOTH times I was sadly disappointed. This item above is a TRUE Toshiba battery (NOT generic). I got my battery VERY fast and once I got it I put it in my laptop and ALL is working fine. I shutdown my laptop and let it do a FULL charge and to my AMAZEMENT it is working perfectly!

Bought Two - Both Failed within Five Months I DONT BELIEVE THESE ARE GENUINE TOSHIBA!

In my opinion, these are NOT genuine Toshiba. I bought two of these in August 2014. The one I gave my grandson stopped charging two months later. He bought a new battery and did not tell me the one I gave him had failed. This month, the battery I kept for myself died. I told my grandson about it and he then told me about his battery failing. So, two "genuine" batteries died, one in two months and one in five months.

I then looked at the dead battery very carefully, comparing it to the one that originally came with my computer. The gray and blue printing on the allegedly genuine battery from this Amazon seller is not as bright, crisp, and clear as the printing on the original battery. Also, (see photo), the short bar code decal is missing on the replacement. In its place is a label in Chinese characters.

I ordered this new battery in an attempt to salvage my old Toshiba laptop and not have to buy a new one. But the laptop never would recognize it. And they wouldn't let me send it back because it has hazardous materials in it. It was okay to mail it TO me, just not for me to mail it BACK to them!

Genuine reliable product

Toshiba spare 6 Cell Li-ion battery with capacity of 48Wh is good solution in case either you need additional battery or your old battery became unusable.

Battery supports almost 40 different models of Toshiba laptop series including Dynabook, Satellite Cxxx, Lxxx, Mxxx, Pro and Txxx series, though to be sure is your model supported consult the list on official page or product description.

After changing battery, my laptop was able to endure demanding work between 5 and 5,5h which can be considered satisfying for most of the users. The installation was smooth, all you had to do is to shutdown laptop, replace the old battery, switch-on the laptop and leave it for full recharge.

Overall, Toshiba PA3817U-1BRS Battery can be recommended as genuine reliable product which performs as advertised and provides you enough carefree time to work without AC.

MAYBE I GOT A DUD? BUT, THIS BATTERY WAS WORTHLESS.

Maybe I just got a dud, but this battery is worthless. I received it last week, placed it on charge, and allowed it to get to 100% fully charged. I used it for about 30 minutes, turned it off, and did not use it again until a day later. When I turned it on, the battery said it was at 10%, and it turned the computer off within two minutes. I thought that somehow I just hadn't charged it properly, so I recharged it the next day, again waiting for it to read 100% fully charged. I then started using it, and after about ten minutes, it turned my computer off, and it would not come back on until I plugged in the charging cord. When it was restarted, the battery read 1%. After charging for two hours, it read 65%. I unplugged the cord, and it immediately turned my computer off. So, bottom line for this particular battery is that it is worthless. I now have to go through the process of trying to return it and get a new one.

Get The Original Here - Don't Waste Time & Money On Third Party Brands!

This battery worked perfect..! It is the original battery that comes with the Toshiba Laptop.

I was getting tired of buying those third party brand batteries for about $15 - $19.99 bucks and having to return or throw them away. I bought two of those third party brands already for the same laptop I bought this battery for and I wish I had just saved my money and go with the original here.

The battery works perfect and has brought our Toshiba back to life. We get 4-hours of battery life without any problems as if the laptop had just be purchased. I'm not sure how long it will last considering we just got it but our original battery lasted 2 1/2 - years so we're looking forward to it going the distance. I'll post an update or comment when it goes bad, until then you can assume it's still going good!

This is the original Toshiba battery that comes with the Toshiba Laptop, Don't waste time and money on those third party brands! If you can get this directly through Toshiba or Amazon directly the go for it. Try to avoid the resellers under Amazon for a headache free life!
