Almost perfect! That’s the HP Envy laptop in a nutshell. It is darn near perfect. The HP Envy is aptly named as you will be the envy of everyone once you get this laptop. This laptop is fast, with its 2.5GHz Intel i-7 CPU and 8GB of high speed RAM. This laptop has many more great features yet is priced reasonably at around $800.

Some laptops in the $600 - $800 range skimp on the display. The HP Envy has a 1080P high definition display that is also a very accurate touchscreen. The display is powered by a reliable Intel HD Graphics card which will more than adequately suit your needs, from video watching to even light gaming. So, this laptop will let you watch Netflix or Amazon, while using another screen for MS Word, and have Skype Video Chat all at once. You can even play games that don’t require expensive video cards. If you are looking for a gaming laptop, however, then you might be disappointed.

The webcam works perfectly, even in bad lighting. Some laptops have a lag with their webcam, but the Envy’s has no lag and comes ready to use with free software.

So many laptops on the market consider two tiny speakers a sound system. The HP Envy will easily satisfy your inner-audiophile with its ‘beat audio, that includes a built-in subwoofer! How cool is that! I’m not referring to a lame, simulated subwoofer. It’s a real bonafide subwoofer in the laptop!

There’s plenty of room on the Envy’s hard drive for your music and movies because this laptop has a terabyte hard drive. That’s a 1000 GB! Some other nice features are the backlight keyboard, USB 3.0, and as previously mentioned, a full HD Display which is also the best touchscreen I have ever used!

My last Windows laptop was a 17" HP Envy so it was nice to get my hands on a smaller 15.6" widescreen notebook. The laptop feels solid when holding or carrying but the casing is definitely plastic. But not flimsy. It has a beautiful 1080P widescreen touchscreen LCDt. Side-to-side viewing angles are decent but top to bottom are somewhat narrow. The backlit keyboard has a nice feel. It comes with Windows 8.1 and is easily upgradable to Windows 10 which is a much more user friendly. HP has loaded a bunch of software, some of which you may want to delete. Overall this feels like a good mainstream notebook, perfect for work, small business, graphics editing or even some light gaming. The 1TB hard drive gives you lots of space but performance minded folks may be looking for a SSD deal. The integrated graphics is fine for all but the hardcore gamer crowd. The 1080P screen, DVD Writer and Ethernet ports are nice features that are harder and harder to find on newer laptops.

My current experience with laptops has been Dell, so HP is new to me. This laptop right out of the box is beautiful and has a amazing 15.6 inch widescreen crisp picture quality (1080p). The laptop is not too heavy but not light either. It seems well made and looks very nice and fits into my 17 inch laptop bag. It does look like it could get scratched easily, so I will be extra careful or get a skin for it. I loved the lighted keyboard and the size of the keys compared to some laptops was very nice and not too small, and has the umber pad which is a must for me. I am not a fan of Windows 8 but I grown accustomed to it beforehand so that comes with it, and is fine. The speed of the computer is very fast, though I have not loaded all my pictures and music on it as of yet, but so far very fast. I think the storage is plenty as 1tb is fine for me. I do not do anything but school, and pictures on this computer as well as internet stuff so I do not need excessive storage. It has all the functions I need including Bluetooth, built in WiFi, great speakers, back-lit keyboard and fast processor. It looks beautiful, but is a little heavy and seems like it would be scratched easily on the outside due to the material it is made form. I think it is great and the touchscreen is an added bonus, but I am not used to that so I forget to use it half the time. I will work on using that more! Overall this is a great quality for the money laptop and I recommend for the casual user. If your into more graphic design programs I am not sure as I am not.
