I got this computer for my son--he wanted a red computer. This one had the features we wanted, the right color, and the price was right. It arrived a bit early and we have not had a problem with it. He's had it for two weeks now. We've had no interaction or need to contact the seller directly.

January 2015 update. Several keys on the lower letter row of the keyboard stopped working. After working with a technician over the internet for 2-1/2 hr. he gave me the info to send it for repair. HP sent a box to ship it in and paid the shipping. It was returned and working correctly now for 3 days.

Great Deal, Ideal for Daily Computing! :)

I love my zippy, red laptop. :) I wanted a computer similar to my other HP, as I am familiar with the brand and like it, and this computer more than fits the bill. My needs for a computer were: ease of use (check!), compatible with my printer (check!), DVD drive (check!), and able to withstand hours of use daily for my writing and home business (check! check!). Out of the box it was easy to set up, and I've been enjoying it for over a month now. The only downsides are: if you want a computer for video games or for a photography editing program (or other software that is heavy on graphics), this computer would likely run slowly, and it can be a little slow restarting sometimes. It's ideal, though, for surfing the internet, checking email, listening to music, word processing, and other daily tasks. I wasn't sure if I'd like Windows 8.1, but it was pretty easy to learn. I love this computer-- the red color is a bonus. :) Overall and for the money, a superb purchase.

Nice red color but that's about all

This laptop may look classy, but it is very difficult to navigate and looks very cheap. The mouse pad area is too large and too easy to accidentally affect the screen by movement. Overall it is very frustrating and I would only recommend to a teenager as their first computer or to someone who rarely gets online. They say retail is over $500? Then if anyone bought it for that they were ripped off.

It frequently when videos are on will shut down the whole computer. I have looked up these errors that it gives, and cannot find the issues. It works otherwise and will actually runs my sims 4 games. It is really frustrating when I am trying to write papers for school or watch interviews or ted talks, that it will shut down and lose all my work.

It's not a bad laptop especially for the price. It starts to lag at times, but nothing a restart won't fix. Fast downloads, overall is nice. The 4 start is because of all the damn HP updates and general bloatware, not a deal breaker I just order for it not to be included.
