It works. It is an original HP battery, no knock offs. The battery has lasted me a long time. However, it seemed that my laptop got a little longer battery time when I first bought it.Not sure if it is the energy settings or what.
If you want a genuine hp battery and not an aftermarket, these guys are the way to go.

After installing it and charging, it seems not to hold the charge near what my original battery did, a few years ago.
