Great Product that saved us tons of money

While travelling for D1 soccer, someone stepped on my son's laptop and cracked the screen. Best Buy said it would cost $400 to repair a $600 laptop. Thank God for YouTube and this company who sells replacement screens. With a little bit of research and patience, we changed a $400+ repair into a $50 repair. Thank you!

this is still a great screen. When you first put it on

Now, first off it should be known that this is NOT an OEM screen. The seller never tries to claim that, though. This is a replacement screen, with the LCD manufactured by LG. However, this is still a great screen. When you first put it on, the screen will look washed out. To fix this, click the Windows button and search for the display calibration settings. Use this tool to make the colors more accurate. This is necessary because this screen is NOT the same and appears to be an IPS LCD screen.

This part was about $45 with my Amazon Prime free shipping(not an endorsement) I replaced the screen in about 20 minutes via Youtube how-to video. If you are not a DIY nerd, don't do this. You need to have special tools and confidence with electronics, but if you know someone who fits this skill-set...

I installed this screen myself and it works just fine. However, the display is somewhat glossy and less vibrant than usual. But that's probably because I sucked ass putting it on. Nevertheless, nothing to complain about. It's good.

Perfect! Saved me over $100!

It worked perfectly! I saved over $100 by fixing my laptop screen myself.
After taking apart my HP laptop I realized that it wouldn't have been worth spending over $150. to have someone else fix it because the HP case and frame is made with cheap thin fragile plastic.
I would recommend to any one who has a cheap $300. HP Laptop to do a DIY fix it. There are directions on HP website and videos to watch online to learn how to do it.

Received unit with a cluster of bad pixels in the upper left quadrant of the screen. Amazon replaced the defective unit and was received in (2) days. The replacement was received with zero dead pixels. The panel appears to be of good build quality. Unfortunately, like with all replacement units, there will be a bad one here and there.
No matter what happens, Amazon always stands behind their sales, no questions asked.
