Oh Boy I've got problems

Received my HP 455 yesterday and unboxed it. Got everything out and hooked up, turned on the computer and got an error screen. Told me that either it was shut down improperly or the software had been changed. tried to start in safe mode and it recycled telling me the same thing. Tried to start in normal mode same message. Called HP Tech Support and got a guy that I really had trouble understanding plus when I would ask a question or make a comment there was about a 30 second delay in his response. Finally he told me I had a problem with the operating system (Windows 7 Pro) and I needed to install the OS. I took out the disk and installed the OS and since it was taking some time to boot he told me to follow the prompts and that should take care of the problem. Ha!!! The computer ended up with a couple shortcuts on it, Recycle Bin, HP Support Assistant and the start up menu. Tried to hookup to the net, no luck. tried other programs still nothing. Used the drivers install disk and on the first try the computer could not see any WiFi connection. Loaded it up again and it recognized the WiFi. Then I noticed there were no programs installed, no MS Office, Security programs, nothing. I tried the OS disk again and got nothing more out of it. When I checked the system specs it showed I had a 64GB hard drive and I used 32GB. Now it is supposed to be 750GB. I called Tech Services again and that took awhile to figure that a partition had been created. Now the Tech tried to help knock down the partition but when I went to restart the computer it had 146 updates to install. Of course the Tech did not want to stay on the phone until that was finished so one hour and twenty-two minutes later the computer shut down and rebooted. Guess what? Good laptop for the price

I wanted a "no frills" laptop for emails, online surfing, and some photo editing, and especially wanted Windows 7. This computer is perfect for my needs. It's fast, quiet, holds it's battery power for a long time, and is powerful enough to run the office programs I use very quickly and easily..and, I didn't have to learn the new Windows 8. The only fault I find is that the picture is not as clear and true to color as I had hoped. Therefore editing family photos is a little tricky. However, after playing with it a bit, I have a pretty good feel for how dark/light photos will print versus their appearance onscreen, so it's not a deal-breaker. So far, I would recommend this computer.

More clarity in item description needed

computer was advertised as Window 7 Pro but on the bottom of the computer it said it had Windows 8...It has Windows 7 Pro on the computer with discs to upgrade to Windows 8...that wasn't stated in the ad. This caused me some anxiety for a couple days thinking I would need to return and reorder another computer (really needed Window 7).

If it had clearly stated this in the ad it would have been helpful!

The are many issues with this purchase. The most importantly it was not what was paid for! Memory is half what was posted! Second the hard drive is also less than half the size posted. Third and least important but still an issue was the lack of expedited shipping. The seller did send it the day it was purchased with tracking but it took a very long time to arrive. I will hopefully get a refund? We will see?

annoying keyboard

keyboard is annoying because it is shifted to the left and the number keys are on the right. Number keys shift between numbers and directions and seriously slow down my work. for those who use a computer for WRITING< this is very difficult to adjust to. maybe it is good for those who use numbers or calculations more than letters. I do not like this and will probably get rid of it in the next few months...the problem is getting everything transferred over to yet another computer.
