Saved big bucks

Hewlett Packard wanted $350 to replace my cracked laptop screen, PLUS, I would have had to ship it to them and be without it for over a week.
Instead, I researched the type of screen I needed and found a perfect match through Amazon.com. It cost me 60 bucks to have it shipped to my house. Watched a video online on how to replace the screen...took me all of fifteen minutes for the entire process.
I saved $300 and didn't have to go without my computer for a week.

I was a little apprehensive about buying a laptop screen with the limited information that was available on the product page, but bit the bullet due to the good merchant reviews and low price. Worked well and was the right screen

well packaged, right product for the listed laptop and was in good shape. It is said to be new and looked the part. Had another unrelated problem shortly before installing but fixed it. the "fuse" for the back light on this HP laptop blew. It's extremely tiny and according to the only post I found that told me which one it was, it happens a lot. I just bypassed it with a tiny bead of solder. The fuse is JS8 and is Found just below C66 on the motherboard beneath the top portion of black tape near the cpu cooler fan. The only place I found this information was on a spiceworks forum thread. Figured i'd repost it but I can't link to it.

Worked great for a DV6! But not a half hour job by any means.

The screen worked perfectly for my DV6! It's every bit as high quality as the one that came with my computer - no difference whatsoever. But if you have a DV6 and aren't well versed in taking electronics apart and putting them back together, get ready for a 6 hour experience that includes removing everything right down to the motherboard to replace your screen. My boyfriend took it apart, and as someone who is used to working with desktops, he spent a solid hour apologizing for destroying my laptop. I got this screen after finding out the one I'd ordered was not the right one and put it back together myself. I've never reassembled a computer, so if I can do it, you can too! Just go slow, follow the service manual, and put each step's screws in a muffin cup. You'll definitely feel like you can replace anything after you've replaced a screen in a DV6.

Perfect for a hp pavilion dv6 notebook

Before I start talking, this is the real deal, I am a real person, not a fake person doing a review for them so they can have a positive rating for this, I'm an actual person that bought this, and I have posted some pictures, and there's the screen I put into my hp, which it installed already, and there's a 2nd screen that is a oh pro book that I will mention in this review. I have a hp pavilion dv6 notebook, and it fits and works perfect. I started out with a factory screen that somehow cracked in a desk when I had it with my at school, got it replaced with a screen made for a different laptop, but it still fitted, and I didn't use it for a while for some reason and I stepped on it by accident, and of course it cracked, but at the mean time, I had bought a new/old hp pro book, different model, but appearntly the screen fitting, so instead of a glossy screen, I got a muggy screen, and I cracked it a couple days go and the factory hp pro book screen bend in half cause it landed on the side of the screen, so I searched for a new screen, and this one works perfect, and I mean beautiful!!! Screen, has great clear graphics, and I just hooked it up today, so I still have a use it a little, and if anything goes wrong, I'll do another review

laptop fixed!!!

So I got my new screen today and after about half an hour later, the new screen was installed. I turned the power on and was so thrilled to see it working. Professionals told me it would be between $200 - $300 just to replace the screen. Saved so much money!
I was hesitant about buying it on here because the picture of the replacement screen (backside) was different than my old screen and different from the icon shown than it did when I clicked on this item. Regardless, even though it may be a generic screen, it is compatible with my hp Pavillion dv6-6135dx laptop and appears to work great.

Will Update further if it has any issues.

HP wanted a couple hundred dollars for a new screen and to fix it. I decided to buy this and try my luck at changing it myself. I am being completely honest when I say I know nothing about computers so I was hesitant but up for the challenge. I simply youtubed some instructions for this specific model on another computer and about an hour later I was back up and running with a brand new screen. There is one or two dead pixels but they are in the bottom right corner and I probably wouldn't have ever noticed them had I not been specifically searching out flaws in the new screen. Great product!
