A Mac Fan Boy buys his first PC in over a decade!

Confession is good for the soul; and I have one. As those who know me well can attest, I have been the quintessential Mac Fan Boy since before the turn of the century. Even though I have used all versions of Windows (through 7) at work, I haven't owned a PC since 1999 when Windows 1998 was extant. Recently I decided that I wanted to do something that required a PC; and since I didn't want to deface my Mac by installing Windows on it through Boot Camp , I decided to buy a Windows notebook just to use for a few things. I will always love my Mac; and it will always be my system of choice ... but I must say I really like this new Windows 8.1. As always, Microsoft has copied liberally from Apple; but since Google is now the universal enemy of us all, I am happy to support Microsoft just a little. This is what I bought for my secondary computer.

This is a great entry level notebook. It's sleek and performs well. I recommend this line of notebooks for anyone who wants a relatively inexpensive computer. I believe you will be well satisfied.

Seller was quick to communicate and answer questions. It comes with the manufacturer warranty, new in the box. It came more quickly than the original shipping time estimate. I wanted a light, touch screen laptop, and I got it. It doesn't have a cd/dvd drive, but I got an external one for $30. Windows 8.1 has a learning curve, but Windows 10 will be free, so I plan on updating. Satisfied with my new laptop. I especially like the 360 capability.

GO BUY DELL, DON'T DO IT. This thing has been a nightmare!!! This is my THIRD ONE in LESS THAN TEN MONTHS!!!

DON'T DO IT!!! I am on my THIRD ONE in less than TEN MONTHS!!!! Just stops starting up. Utter failure. I have no doubt this one they sent ground so it takes ANOTHER TEN DAYS to get it back will wind up crapping out probably one day after my year warranty is up and then I'm out. Thank God I went and bought a computer that works after the SECOND REPLACEMENT so I can actually keep working. So, if you are fine with having a part time computer and have a WORKING one on hand for when this one is at HP getting fixed and then having them ship it back GROUND TEN DAYS, then by all means, get it. Otherwise, go to DELL, really.
