Perfect for School

**UPDATE 1/24/14**
The trackpad has now completely stopped working. The touchscreen is also unresponsive at times now (similar to how the touchpad started malfunctioning in the beginning per my original review). Ok. Tried reinstalling the driver for the trackpad. No go. Tried using windows 8 new "refresh" feature. It managed to wipe all the data I had previously spent hours transferring over from my wife's old macbook, even after windows assured me we wouldn't lose any data. This is most definitely the most frustrated I have ever been with a piece of technology.unfortunately, while I wanted to love this computer and my transition to windows, I can honestly say that I could not recommend this computer to anybody.

My wife is going back to school this semester and we bought this computer to replace a 9-year-old white MacBook which is not compatible with many of her online classes. After having a chance to transfer all of her old files and pictures, we've really had a blast playing around with this thing. Both of us have been on MacBooks for the past 9 years, me for work and her for play, so I wasn't quite sure what to expect switching over to a machine running Windows 8. While there is still some work to be done on Windows 8 (that's a review for a different thread), it's really nice to be able to swipe through the new live tile layout with its touchscreen interface. The HD screen is sharp and crisp, looking forward to watching movies on this thing because it's got a very nice display. The build quality feels durable, and the styling is sleek and elegant, although a bit on the heavy side.Read more ›

Bang for your buck!

Awesome laptop for the price, really good processing speed, handles all of my work very well. I definitely recommend this product for anyone who is looking for a good laptop at a decent price. It's no high end gamer pc, but as a full time college student with a bunch of homework and the occasional gaming, this laptop is perfect for me.
