Mostly great, a few minor gripes

First one I've bought with number pad, pretty much eliminated any need for a desktop. Gripes; power jack on left side, would have preferred right or rear; USB for mouse near front edge, makes cord stick out toward mouse, found right angle extension that looped it toward rear. Optical drive hard to open, have to push in and down on very small projection. Otherwise very satisfied.

I purchased this laptop as a replacement/upgrade from a Lenovo R60 thinkpad because of the discontinuation of XP and the processing capabilities of the R60 were limited. I have a few minor gripes, one is the power cord is on the right which is kind of inconvenient to say the least, secondly all of the usb ports are on the front right and left sides , another inconvenience for right and left handed people to have to maneuver around. Last I am constantly being bothered by the fingerprint reader, while I do like it, every time I brush by it, it makes a noise, and it took a while for me to figure out what process was going on to make this noise. Other than that I was surprised at how light the laptop is compared to my old one. I have used it for one semester for programming and GIS work and have had no problems, I am using the windows 7 Pro and have not upgraded to 8 which is included(Probably will not in the foreseeable future either). I am very happy with how it runs and the fact it came with very little bloatware. One last thing, the touch pad is very finicky and a cause of frustration, but easily resolved with a wireless track pad (which I love. Overall a very good machine with no bells and whistles.
