Was a little skeptical about purchasing a refurbished product, but it showed up on time in brand new condition.

Love this laptop.

Pros:
Fast, beautiful, light, quality feel. The battery life is as good as they say. Keyboard is great too. Much better than the Yoga's.

Picture quality is glorious and the flexibility of the screen is very handy. Tablet mode is a nice bonus that works well for reading or playing solitaire.

Cons:
No true complaints here.

If you're planning on using this as a legit tablet, you might want to look elsewhere. It's a little unwieldy in one hand, and though it's light for a laptop, it's heavy for a tablet. Also, the Windows home button is on the side rather than on screen like it is on most tablets. It's not really necessary since the actual start button is back, but still, it's kind of odd placement.

Also, the wide mouse pad seems unnecessary. It's easy to miss clicks at first, but you start to get used to it. You'll want to play around with the Synaptic settings a bit to suit your style (and also if you want to game with the keyboard and mouse pad. By default, you can't press keys and move the mouse at the same time).

Speaking of gaming...
With the integrated graphics, you won't be running any modern games, but if you have some early-mid 2000s games in your Steam library, those will run great. Had Doom 3 running smoothly with higher settings.

Conclusion:

I looked at a lot of hybrids before deciding on this one. Frankly, even at the full price, the cost-to-quality can't be beat on this thing. For $899, it's a friggin steal. Also, this is my 3rd HP laptop, and though I liked the previous 2 a lot, the aluminum casing of this thing puts it in a whole different league.

I'm normally a Mac person, but when I was looking for a laptop at this price point I couldn't find anything from Apple that fit what I wanted, so I started looking at PCs and the HP Spectre caught my eye. The touchpad is the best I've used, even beating out the dedicated Magic Trackpad I use with my iMac. It looks stunning with the aluminum construction and the screen is very nice. This machine could easily be in Apple's lineup, but it beats Apple with more ports and a touch screen. It boots up lightning fast thanks to the SSD. The best thing however is that this is the cleanest PC I've ever booted up out of the box - no crapware at all! It seems like HP at least has cleaned up the former shortcomings of PCs.

The product I received had some very small blue blemishes on the top. Other than that it is nearly flawless! Startup up time is just under 10seconds. It's fast, light weight, and a pleasure to use.

CONS:
- Battery on this laptop/tablet is awful. 45-50 mins usage, drops to 75%. Brightness is set to the lowest.I installed Avira antivirus. What is going on here? I decided for a long time whether to get Dell XPS 13 (claimed 15 hrs) and this one (claimed 12.5 hrs). I already owned Acer Chromebook 720 (awesome battery for 7-9 hrs) depending on how I adjusted the screen brightness, MSI GT 70 gaming laptop - around 3.5- 4hrs plus.
-Heat on upper left Keyboard. Sometimes the heat is too extreme even for a short time. I am mainly browsing the Internet and I haven't use any heavy duty work yet (photo imaging, video editing and programming) since I just used this for 2-3 days.

PROS:
- 2-in-1 is really nice. It is fast and obviously better than mine Dell Pro 8 (USB port is broken and storage is so small).
- Keyboard is silent and it is a full keyboard which is easier to type than mine small Asus EEEPC 1000H. It has a backlight keyboard with F5 light is always on
- Wireless is good, better than mine Note 4 but Kindle HDX 7 has better wireless range.
-Big storage and light!

I am going to contact HP support to see if they will help me to fix this since it is still under warranty. If they decided not to, I will return this and get another one. If that one is still not working, I will get Dell XPS 13.

I spent a lot of time doing research for the best 2 in 1 for school. The top rated was the surface, I wanted that for a while until I realized that it's going to be extemely difficult to have it on my lap. Plus I didn't want to spend over 1k for an i5. I needed power and memory. I'm so incredibly glad I stumbled on this. This deal is amazing. The computer itself started up relatively quickly. No blemishes on the computer. It came in an official Certified HP Refurbished box which was really nice. I downloaded Windows 10 and it runs beautifully well on my Spectre x360. Overall very satisfied with this.

I love this machine, but I am disappointed that it came with a dent on the left hand side of the keyboard, and a dead pixel right in the middle of the screen. I would request a replacement, but I just started my semester at school and can't be laptop-less.

Dead pixels are extremely annoying!

Sweet computer, and a steal at this price. I bought this for grad school to take notes, manage assignments, and run design software, and so far it's handled like a dream. Although refurbished, the unit I received was as good as brand new. It's fast, powerful, has a decent screen (although it took me a while to get used to the touch-screen glare). The design is also very high quality - keys are just the right amount of clicky, the backlight looks very cool, and the metal frame just feels nice. Even the font choice for the "Hewlett-Packard" on the front is thoughtful and attractive, and I've already gotten several admiring remarks from my fellow students.

I've found that the very lowest brightness setting is plenty for most situations, and I've gotten probably 8 or so hours of continuous use on one charge (which may not sound like much, but it's more than enough to take me through an entire school day, since I'm not actually using the computer every moment of the day). The touch screen and the folding feature both work perfectly. I don't use them much, but they're nice to have occasionally. The number and variety of peripheral slots is also amazing, considering how small the actual laptop is.

Only downside is I've discovered I pretty much hate Windows 8. But you can always upgrade to 10 for free. Overall, highly recommend.
