What the "Signature Edition" is

Potential purchasers should know that the Signature Edition of the Stream 11 is the version of the Stream 11 that is WITHOUT all the extra bloatware software from HP and third-party vendors. The Signature Edition comes only with Office 365 and security software, plus Windows.

Great little laptop. Pretty much unbeatable value.

Great little laptop. I needed a laptop for around the house to control things, do email, etc.. It lives on the kitchen counter. I did buy a wireless bluetooth mouse to complement it (also in blue ;), because the only part of it I don't love is the trackpad. I've used those silver laptops [you know, the ones with apples on them!] for a long time, and the trackpad on this one just doesn't cut it for me. Sure it works, but maybe it's just some setting I haven't found or that I'm used to a bigger trackpad? However, this laptop meets or beats all of my other expectations. I had thought of getting a different shinybook laptop, but am much happier with a mainstream OS. You can install most any program you need on this, as long as you're aware that most of your files should be cloud based (or maybe on a pocket drive), as it has (somewhat) limited storage (well, as compared to an older, larger laptop I might use with a 2TB drive installed!).

It works great for tasks that are not very demanding

I only use this computer exclusively for my RC helicoper hobby. It is cheap enough that I don't mind if is gets scratched. It is fast enough to perform the simple tasks I need it for. It is SSD, so it has no moving parts. It is Signature edition, so it does not come loaded with all the usual junk that comes standard with Windows computers. It has a 2.0 and a 3.0 USB port. It is small, so it is very portable. It works great for tasks that are not very demanding.

However, this computer would make a terrible only computer. It is slow and the display is barely adequate. You don't want to spend hours staring at the screen. The trackpad is also very clunky.

This computer is great for price and portability for someone with basic computer needs.

It Does the Job

This seems to be a pretty good product and it certainly is pretty (I love the ombre effect with my favorite colors and shades of blue on the keyboard). It boots up quicker than my older 17 in HP and is useful for accessing online resources, but does not seem to hold to the wi-fi signal as well throughout my house. I had no real trouble with setup the free Office 365, but have not been able to access the $25 Microsoft gift card.

I also appreciate its light weight, but that comes with a price. I am also a bit disappointed in the amount of storage that is available on the device. I expected more than 8 GB of the 21 GB available to me considering I purchased the "signature edition". Still, I guess it's not that bad considering the product I purchased. I am still figuring everything out and getting used to everything; Windows has change since my XP. Overall, I think I would recommend this product, it si.
