I purchased this but not on Amazon, and I would note no laptop "sold by and shipped by" Amazon could come close to the price I got from a local store that shall remain nameless (B is a hint), and that's a damn shame for Amazon, and it's more of a shame that Amazon products couldn't even get within $100 of the local price. That is a bit of a joke in fact.

This laptop's number of stars depends on the price which you pay. I'm giving it four stars because I don't know what you are going to pay, but if you pay around $400, it's a five star item. If you pay $500, it's just ordinary.

But this laptop is exactly what I consider what *everyone* who is looking to buy a general purpose laptop should get. I am looking at a good deal as that near $400 mark, a touch screen, an Intel i3 chip, a DVD burner, a wired Ethernet port along with the wifi, minimum 3 USB ports, and HDMI output should be easy to find too. Now the Ethernet port here is a little sad at being only 100 Mbps, but still that's way way better than wifi, so OK acceptable, though annoying that they don't just throw gigabit in which couldn't cost more than what $2 more?? But I've also found the non-gigabit Ethernet port is quite common today on laptops, and again not sure why that is. And why do I say Intel i3 and not AMD? Because I have found AMD machines of right now, including A10, A8, A6, etc, to be massively lacking today compared to Intel, and I'm not sure why that is since they used to be OK, at least in terms of comparable performance, though they have always been worse for heat and heat-tolerance issues. Today's AMD chips are *not OK* in terms of basic performance.

I spent a long time as an HP reseller and one thing that irked me a bit was that people demand so much for so little. I paid $350 during the holidays, I needed the laptop for my work, normally a mac guy and other than work which had windows 7, I rarely used Windows 8.
Yes you're not getting Bluetooth, you can buy an adapter if you'd like, but unless you're buying Bluetooth speakers, you really don't need it especially at the price.

I love this machine, the fact that it's a touch screen is even better. It wasn't long ago maybe just a year or two that touch screens were expensive.
The only adjustments I would make, is adding more memory, it's cheap, another 8 gig module chip will bring you to 12gb (it's a 64bit machine it'll max at 16gb), is only around $70. Lots of ports. one major issue I am having is I dropped the laptop from a table to my carpet and one of the hinge covers came off. It also doesn't open without catching the right lip, a bit of a snap sound. If you look at the laptop to the right, they have an odd design where it covers up at the hinge and it's easy for that to get seated. I do not recommend trying to type sideways with this, yes that was dumb, but I was lazy, and the plastic popped out.

Works fine, starts up very quick, surprisingly for a regular hard drive. HP really did a great job with this, given the price. It's not something to play high end games with, and the camera that comes with it is horrible, but for $350 or so, not a bad deal.

Another Note, this laptop comes with Microsoft Office 365 trial for 30 days, after that it's about $70 for a year with 1TB of storage which alone is worth it. You get everything, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, OneNote, including Access and Publisher. Their OneDrive works effortlessly and looks like a local drive.

Nice touchscreen laptop purchased at WalMart Black Friday for considerably less but since there are no reviews I'll post the first.... It has everything you will need in a notebook for college no heavy gaming here but for space and surfing you need nothing else... All ports are available sd card, hdmi, speaker, microphone, usb 2.0..... Pretty good purchase...

Purchased this laptop for document editing, emailing and we browsing only. It's not like lightning fast, but the speed it fine. A lot of the time pages load instantly, sometimes it takes a tad longer. The screen is a good size, but the keyboard and mouse pad... First, the keyboard is kind of awkward to me- my fingers haven't quite got the keys down. I think because there is a built in numerical pad the keys are smaller/closer... It is awesome to have a built in numerical pad, though. I'm sure if the laptop was larger this wouldn't be an issue. Second, the keyboard isn't back lit- kind of stinks, but not a deal breaker. Third- and this does suck- the mouse pad is HORRIBLE! It has cool features like the two finger scroll and the ability to select without clicking the actual button, but its hit or miss. The darn Windows 8 screen keeps coming up seemingly out of nowhere when I do certain things with the mouse pad. BUT, not a deal beaker, you can just purchase a wireless mouse- which is what I did and now it's cool. Those are my issues, though. I find the speakers aren't all that loud, but for just sitting in front of the computer, I suppose it's fine. Don't expect a jam session from afar, though. It's pretty light weight, pretty thin. For what I need it for, it's fine!
